  • Publication number: 20200060220
Abstract: A method and apparatus for collecting agricultural manure in a confined animal feeding operation includes a separator which receives heavy manure removing particulate from suspension to produce light manure. Heavy manure is collected to a volume of heavy manure sufficient to substantially fill the first tank. Within the first tank, particulate migrates, due to the influence of gravity to form a layer containing manure comprising a lesser density of particulate than is present in the volume of heavy manure. Additional heavy manure buoys the layer such that the upper surface exceeds a height of a weir. The weir is situated in a channel communicating between the first tank and a second tank configured to receive light manure from the separator.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides transgenic nematode systems for assessing function of heterologous genes, their variants and drug discovery. The transgenic nematodes contain a heterologous gene that is inserted via homologous recombination at the native locus replacing and removing the nematode ortholog, wherein expression of the heterologous gene rescues function of the removed nematode ortholog and a transgenic control animal is provided. The heterologous gene may be further modified to provide a variant, such as a human clinical variant, whereby a transgenic test animal is provided. Those transgenic test animals are used in methods to assess function of the heterologous variant and drug screens to find therapeutic candidates reversing deviant activity back to wildtype.

Abstract: A process where materials are applied to a plastic fishing lure surface, producing a lure that possesses chromatic vicissitude as a result of water temperature fluctuations. A non-thermochromatic base layer of one or more colors is applied to the plastic fishing lure. This layer acts as the visual appearance of the fishing lure in the absence of temperature fluctuations. Clear extender is then used as an additive to the thermochromatic ink. This addition to the ink then allows the ink to be sprayed onto the surface of the lure. This ink-extender amalgam can be applied in multiple layers however the bottom layer must have the least amount of hue saturation. Each layer thereafter would increase in hue saturation. Multiple hue combinations can be utilized. Once the desired number of thermochromatic layers has been applied, an ultra-clear super high gloss lacquer finish is sprayed on to the exterior of all layers.

Abstract: A spinner bait lure includes a wire harness having a line eye. A fishing hook is coupled to the wire harness. A spinner blade is rotatably coupled to the wire harness. A bead is rotatably coupled to the wire harness. Retrieval of the spinner bait lure through a water body causes the spinner blade and the bead to rotate. The spinner blade and the bead rotate about a common axis of rotation and a path of rotation of the bead intersects with the spinner blade. Therefore, the bead knocks into the spinner blade, causing deflection and noise.

Abstract: An insect capturing assembly for capturing insects on a ceiling includes a pole that can be gripped and directed upwardly toward a ceiling. A bottle is removably coupled to the pole such that the bottle is positioned adjacent to the ceiling when the pole is directed upwardly toward the ceiling. The bottle is oriented collinear with the pole such that an opening in the bottle is directed toward the ceiling. Thus, the opening can surround an insect on the ceiling thereby facilitating the bottle to capture the insect. The bottle has a division therein to define a top half of the bottle that is removably coupled to a bottom half of the bottle, and the top half is removable from the pole for emptying the bottom half.
