Abstract: A computer-implemented medical method of irradiation treatment planning is provided. Therein, an initial coverage volume (118) for a planning target volume (116), which is to be irradiated in an irradiation treatment with a prescribed dose, is provided. Further, at least one constraint (106, 110) indicative of an allowed dose for an organ at risk (120) is provided. Applying an initial irradiation treatment plan, an organ dose deposited in at least a partial volume of the organ at risk (120) is calculated. Based on comparing the organ dose to the at least one constraint (106, 110), an amount of violation is determined. Taking into account the determined amount of violation, a reduction coverage volume is calculated for the planning target volume (116) and a virtual planning object (122) is generated based on changing a volume of the organ at risk (120), such that an overlap region (124) of the virtual planning object (122) and the planning target volume (116) corresponds to the reduction coverage volume.

Abstract: For decision support in a medical therapy, machine learning provides a machine-learned generator for generating a prediction of outcome for therapy personalized to a patient. The outcome prediction may be used to determine dose. To assist in decision support, a regression analysis of the cohort used for machine training relates the outcome from the machine-learned generator to the dose and an actual control time (e.g., time-to-event). The dose that minimizes side effects while minimizing risk of failure to a time for any given patient is determined from the outcome for that patient and a calibration from the regression analysis.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of protecting an object (1) against fire. An endothermic material (2) is arranged around the object (1), and then an outer metal-containing cladding (5) is arranged so that it covers at least a part of the endothermic material (2). The endothermic material (2) is provided as a tape (3) which is applied by helically winding the tape (3) in an overlapping manner resulting in a stepped outer surface (6) facing towards the outer cladding (5). The outer cladding (5) comprises metal, in particular is made of metal. The stepped outer surface (6) results in air cavities (7) being formed underneath the outer cladding (5). When the object (1) is exposed to a fire, such small air cavities (7) will allow for a slight swelling of the endothermic material (2) that will, as a consequence of the fire, react and release water directly to the outer cladding (5) from underneath and thereby provide cooling thereof.

Abstract: An inflatable sports ball having a bladder and a cover disposed about the bladder in provided. The cover may have an exterior surface that defines a plurality of plateau sections, a first plurality of indentations, and a second plurality of indentations that cooperate to define a topographical arrangement across the exterior surface. Each of the first plurality of indentations has a first indentation depth, a first indentation width, and a first maximum aspect ratio. The first maximum aspect ratio is defined as the ratio of the first indentation width to the first indentation depth. The second plurality of indentations has a second indentation depth, a second indentation width, and a second maximum aspect ratio. The second maximum aspect ratio is defined as the ratio of the second indentation width to the second indentation depth. The second maximum aspect ratio is greater than the first maximum aspect ratio.

Abstract: A sports ball is provided. The sports ball may include a bladder and a cover disposed about the bladder, wherein the cover includes a plurality of adjoining panels and defines an exterior surface. The cover further defines a plurality of channels extending radially inward from the exterior surface. The plurality of channels includes a plurality of peripheral channel segments and a plurality of interior channel segments. The plurality of peripheral channel segments each define a peripheral seam between adjoining ones of the plurality of panels. Each channel of the plurality of interior channel segments is provided within a central region of one or more of the panels and divide the exterior surface into a plurality of open polygonal portions.

Abstract: A ball retrieval apparatus (10, 910) for retrieving (e.g. tennis) balls (70) from the ground (72) includes a receptacle (12, 912) with an opening (26, 926) over which horizontal rods (36, 936) extend. The rods are received in apertures (34), and can move upwardly and laterally between lowermost and raised positions. The distance between rods in their lowermost positions is less than the ball's diameter. This distance increases as the rods are raised, and moved in opposite lateral directions. A ball can be retrieved by being received into the receptacle between adjacent rods. The rods then drop down to their lowermost positions so that the distance between them again decreases so that the ball is trapped in the receptacle. The invention also extends to a ball retrieval system including a trolley (46, 946) and one or two ball retrieval apparatus supported on the trolley.

Abstract: A device for retrieving a golf ball that is not easily accessible in ponds, in high grass, in bushes, in rocky terrain or in other places that are hard to reach. The device comprises a retriever head that is attached to a telescoping handle. The retriever head comprises an elongated rigid head with no moving parts, with a large opening at the bottom of the front of the retriever. The retriever widens along the sides to form a pocket at the tapered end at the top of the retriever that is used to entrap a golf ball. The outside of the tapered end of the retriever can be used to retrieve a golf ball by scooping it onto the side of the retriever. The rounded point at the tapered end of the retriever can be used to dislodge or reposition a golf ball so that it can be easily retrieved.

Abstract: An autonomous golf ball picking system configured to pick up golf balls from an outdoor environment. The system includes a route map defining a path to pick up golf balls from the ground. The route map is in a computer readable format. An unmanned ground vehicle having a base unit having an internal ball retention compartment, a ball picking roller configured to pick up golf balls from the ground and to deposit the picked-up golf balls into the internal ball retention compartment, at least two linked wheels, each of the at least two linked wheels driven by an independent motor and configured to move the unmanned ground vehicle around the ground, a battery to provide power to the unmanned ground vehicle, and an unmanned ground vehicle computer system. The computer system is capable of reading the route map and sending directional instructions to the independent motors in order to drive the unmanned ground vehicle along the path set out according to the route map.
