Abstract: A request is processed by a control device based on a detected proximity of a client device to the control device. The control device, which is intermediate to the client device and a beacon device, runs application software that receives the request generated using a client application running at the client device. The beacon device, upon receipt of an indication that the control device received the request, transmits a signal to detect a proximity of the client device to the control device. The application software receives data indicative of a response to the signal from the beacon device. The application software allows the request upon a determination that the data reflects the response is received. Alternatively, the application software allows the request upon a determination that the data indicates that the proximity of the client device to the control device satisfies a threshold.

Abstract: A method for processing transactions includes receiving transaction details of a transaction performed by a payer for making a purchase from a first payee. The transaction details include a first payee identifier of the first payee and a purchase amount of the purchase. The first payee identifier is used to access one or more databases for retrieving account details of a second payee and a proportion value of the payment amount. Based on the proportion value, a first amount is withheld for the second payee from an account of the payer. The first amount is then deposited in an account of the second payee linked to the retrieved account details and a certificate of successful deposit of the first amount is communicated to the payer and the first payee.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention make consumer application adoption more efficient by giving suppliers access to the desired target audience by displaying the applications to the right audience. Suppliers can provide criteria for the kinds of users they are looking to target using constraints. Embodiments of the invention enable viewers that match the constraints to see the service. The user gets to see an automatically generated application set, that is instantly available, with a high probability of containing the application the user is likely to seek. Identity and Payment support are built into the platform, such that the user no longer needs to register with each application or set up payment with each application. In addition, the platform reduces bandwidth consumption, storage front print, and power consumption of the user device by choosing when and which modules to download to the user device.

Abstract: A processing device selects a population of persons and measures sales metrics from the population over a time period and measures an advertising weight over the time period. The processing device determines an effect that the advertising weight has on the sales metrics and additionally calculates values for a degree of targetedness for the advertisement to the population of persons. The processing device determines an effect that the degree of targetedness has on the sales metrics and generates a multi-dimensional model that measures the combined effects of the advertising weight and the degree of targetedness on the sales metrics.

Abstract: System and method for measuring the performance of brands across online and offline consumer conversations. Raw conversational data of online and offline conversations is received and analyzed using proprietary algorithms to extract, for each type of data (online and offline), relevant metrics that reflect the performance of the brand. In a non-limiting example, these metrics include: volume, sentiment, brand sharing and social influence. One of the problems with using raw data is the extreme volatility that will cause the results to sharply vary between a week and the other depending on the most recent activity or the lack of activity. To solve this problem, the embodiments compute for each metric a moving average (MA) formula specific to that metric to reduce the volatility of the results. The formula is computed so that the metric values produced by the formula would have the best/most correlation with factual data/business outcomes (e.g. sales/sale figures, stock price, purchase or dumping of stocks etc.

Abstract: A system predicts a value estimate for a user who provides a service that involves moving among geographical regions (e.g., a transportation service). The system determines the value estimate by identifying a sequence of time periods, each time period having an associated set of geographical regions. Possible transitions between geographical regions in different time periods are analyzed, for example, using statistical or machine-learned models, to determine likelihoods that the user will move between the geographical regions from one time period to another, and to determine expected values for a transition. Such models may be trained or developed using historical service data and user profile data stored by the system. Transitions are analyzed over a sequence of time periods to determine accumulated values associated with estimated overall values for each geographical region. The system predicts an overall value estimate for the user based on the accumulated values.
