  • Patent number: 10668920
Abstract: The first yaw angle return control is started at a first start time when the first interruption condition is established. The actuator is controlled under the first yaw angle return control so that yaw angle at a first finish time becomes a value closer to yaw angle at the lane change start time compared with yaw angle at the first start time. The first finish time comes when a first control execution time passes from the first start time. The actuator is controlled under the second yaw angle return control so that yaw angle at a second finish time becomes a value closer to yaw angle at the lane change start time compared with yaw angle at the second start time. The second finish time comes when a second control execution time longer than the first control execution time passes from the second start time.

  • Patent number: 10668922
Abstract: One or more dynamic trailing objects can be detected in an external environment of a vehicle. Position data of the dynamic trailing object(s) can be acquired. It can be determined whether a current position of one of the trailing objects is at substantially the same longitudinal position as a previous position of the ego vehicle. If the current position of the dynamic trailing object is at substantially the same longitudinal position as a previous position of the ego vehicle, a lateral offset between the current position of the trailing object and the previous position of the ego vehicle can be determined. The lateral offset can be used to identify a current travel lane of the ego vehicle, determine lane crossings, and/or determine travel lane probability distributions.

  • Patent number: 10668925
Abstract: In one embodiment, a lane assistant system is configured to provide lane assistance to a driver of an autonomous driving vehicle (ADV) based on the driver's intention determined at the point in time by capturing and analyzing user actions and driving environment surrounding the ADV. By analyzing the user actions and the driving environment surrounding the vehicle, the driver's intention can be determined. The driver's intention can be utilized to interpret whether the driver indeed intends to change lane. Based on the driver's intention, the lane assistance can be provided, either allowing the vehicle change or exit the current lane, or automatically providing warning or correction of the moving direction of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10668932
Abstract: A remote user can mandate one or more zone-based driver/vehicle predefined behaviors. Current vehicle location is analyzed at the vehicle or remotely to determine if the vehicle is approaching or has arrived at a location for which a zone-based driver/vehicle behavior has been mandated. For zone-based vehicle behavior mandates, a vehicle controller at the vehicle responsible for controlling the defined behavior is reprogrammed to impose the defined behavior (no regeneration at location, max speed at location, no idle over 2 minutes at location, etc.). Once the vehicle has left the zone, the controller programming reverts to its prior state, and/or zone-based driver behavior definition is no longer displayed.

  • Patent number: 10668955
Abstract: A fender flare for attachment to a fender of a vehicle, the fender flare having a flap and a support system operatively connected to the flap to attach the flap to the fender. The support system has a trim having or being capable of adopting a U-shaped configuration. To improve connection to the fender, the support system can have a carrier embedded within the walls of the trim or protrusions projecting from the walls of the trim to facilitate a gripping action of the walls against the fender. Fasteners can also be used to facilitate securement of the support system to the fender. A thinned segment between the trim and the flap can be used to eliminate certain distortions in the fender flare and for efficient packaging. A seal projecting obliquely from the first wall at a top end of the first wall may be used to keep debris out.
