Abstract: A work vehicle includes: a hydraulic operation apparatus for operating an actuator; a main controller configured to generate a command current in accordance with an amount of operation of the operation apparatus; an electromagnetic proportional control valve configured to generate command pilot pressure in accordance with the command current; and a main valve configured to adjust a flow rate of hydraulic oil for operating the actuator based on the command pilot pressure. The electromagnetic proportional control valve is provided in a pilot oil passage that connects a pilot pump and a main valve, and configured to utilize hydraulic pressure supplied from the pilot pump to generate command pilot pressure. The operation apparatus is provided in an operation apparatus oil passage that is different from the pilot oil passage.

Abstract: A method of selecting an economy operating mode of a work machine includes detecting a current throttle position of a throttle control and a current track speed with a speed sensor, and determining a current drivetrain load of the machine as a function of motor torque, a drivetrain ratio, a drivetrain mechanical efficiency, a final drive windage factor, and a rolling radius. The method includes decreasing the current throttle command if a ratio of the current drivetrain load to an available drivetrain load is less than a load threshold. A transmission ratio of the transmission is increased by the controller to an increased transmission ratio if the ratio of the current drivetrain load to the available drivetrain load is less than the load threshold.

Abstract: An excavator according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a lower traveling body, an upper turning body pivotably mounted on the lower traveling body, an operator's compartment provided to the upper turning body, an attachment attached to the upper turning body, a first display device installed in the operator's compartment, a second display device installed in the operator's compartment, and a controller configured to calculate a distance between a height of a working part of the attachment and a predetermined target height. The first display device is configured to display operation information of the excavator and working part guidance information based on the distance. The second display device is configured to display at least one of a target terrain image and an image representing the excavator.

The mobile work machine includes a movable element movably supported by the frame to move relative to the frame and an actuator coupled to the movable element to controllably drive movement of the movable element. The mobile work machine includes a sensor that detects an operation characteristic and generates a sensor signal, indicative of the operation characteristic and a grade control system that receives the sensor signal from the sensor and determines a spillage metric, based on the sensor signal. The mobile work machine also includes a control system that generates an actuator control signal based on the spillage metric. The control signal is indicative of a commanded movement of the actuator. The control system controls the actuator to perform the commanded movement.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a multi-function lavatory fixture are disclosed. The lavatory fixture includes a first and second leg, where a first end of each leg is configured to be mounted to a deck and a second end of each leg is located over a basin of the lavatory fixture. A connecting section extends between the second ends of each leg and includes outlets to dispense water and soap to wash a user's hands. The fixture also includes indicators located proximate each of the outlets to indicate to the user the location of each outlet. A sensor located near each outlet identifies the presence of a user's hands near the outlet and dispenses water and soap, accordingly. A controller within the lavatory fixture receives inputs from each sensor and activates the appropriate pump or valve to deliver the desired product at the appropriate outlet.

The controller controls a refresh and a display-switching of the electronic paper by utilizing the electrical power stored in the electrical storage part. The controller starts the refresh in a first state by performing a first determination determining whether or not the electrical power stored in the electrical storage part is in the first state. The electrical power stored in the electrical storage part in the first state is larger than electrical power necessary to complete the refresh.

Abstract: A system for preventing overflow of a toilet includes a capacitance sensor arrangement as in combination with certain features (e.g., flap valve disablement). The system can detect an overflow flush condition of a toilet by sensing the value of a parameter of one or more normal flush cycles of the toilet and establishing a normal range for the value of the parameter using the sensed value. The system can also store the normal range in a memory for comparison to a value of the parameter during subsequent flush cycles. The system can perform sensing over a predetermined timeframe. The system can include the time frame being sufficient to include the entire push cycle of the toilet.

Compression force can be established and maintained over time using a compression washer in combination with a specialized fastener stud that is designed to exploit the compression washer benefits. Methods of using exemplary embodiments include installing the anchor bolt fastener assembly relatively flush with the surface of the concrete slurry by direct insertion in the slurry using a specialized threaded anchor bolt float. Once the slurry hardens, the anchor bolt and anchor bolt float embedded in the concrete slurry cooperate with the specialized fastener stud to secure the building component to the concrete.

Abstract: A retrofitting appliqué for stepped application to a building wall construction. For external retrofitting, the system has an air barrier layer impermeable or semi-permeable for moisture, a ventilated air cavity used to modify temperature and/or remove water that may be coming from both sides or to modify the relative humidity of the ventilation air, a layer of thermal insulation, a composite material called Eco-Wrap with capillary active capability, in which a hydronic heating or cooling system may be located, and a surface finishing layer. For internal retrofitting, the system has an air barrier system arranged onto the wall of the building and separated from a layer of permeable or semi-permeable thermal insulation by a ventilated air gap. The layer of insulation, in turn, is in contact with a layer of Eco-Wrap. A permeable interior finishing layer that may also have capillary active performance is in contact with the Eco-Wrap. Methods for installing the retrofitting appliqué are also disclosed.

Abstract: An asphalt shingle having an asphalt-coated substrate sheet with a top surface and a bottom surface, wherein a liquid release layer is applied on the bottom surface of the asphalt shingle instead of conventional backing particulates. The liquid release layer may help the shingle proceed through the manufacturing machinery without sticking and may prevent the adhesion of the bottom surface of the asphalt shingle to an adjacent shingle in a stack of shingles upon experiencing a pressure up to around four pounds per square inch, a temperature of around eighty degrees Celsius or below. The liquid release agent may also prevent adhesion of adjacent shingles in a stack at various temperature and pressures for at least fourteen days.

Abstract: A method of retrofitting a pre-Northridge type steel beam-to-column connection, includes welding the web of the beam to a flange of the column and slotting the beam web in the region of the connection and near the beam flanges. Stress relief holes are made into the web of the beam and slots are cut into the web of the beam. A top backup bar is welded to the flange of the column and a bottom backup bar is removed from the flange weld to the column. The method includes back gouging the flange of the column at a position of the removed backup bar and welding a bottom flange of the beam to the flange of the column.
