  • Patent number: 10744029
Abstract: The combined members potentiate the autonomic, thermoregulation of an animal such as a horse. An absorbent wrap cools an animal by removing its extra heat during extreme physical and environmental conditions. The wrap member is submerged in water, excess moisture removed, then placed in a sealed, insulated cooler lined with frozen icepacks where the components stay cold until use. The wrap is removed from the cooler and seen in one embodiment fitted around the neck of an animal and held in place by fasteners. Temperature remediation occurs through a countercurrent exchange where incoming and outgoing elements touch to remove heat. The cooling wrap increases an animal's physiological mechanisms by working with their vascular structures and respiratory tract during selective brain cooling (SBC). The animal while stationary or under movement is cooled through the processes of conductive, evaporative and circulatory cooling.

  • Patent number: 10744034
Abstract: Because vision loss in most forms of glaucoma is related to elevated IOP, most glaucoma treatment protocols are concerned with lowering IOP by increasing aqueous humor outflow. The invention utilizes electromagnetic radiation to create retraction in the iris tissue, thereby (a) reducing convexity and enlarging the drainage angle and thus the area of the anterior chamber, (b) reducing contact between the zonule fibers and the iris pigment epithelium, (c) applying greater tension to both the TM and uveoscleral outflow pathways, thereby enlarging those pathways and increasing outflow.

  • Patent number: 10744037
Abstract: A polarization beam splitter selectively decouples detection light onto a detector such that it has a polarization direction that differs from the emitted illumination light. This enables the detection of the light scattered back in the eye lens at a high level of accuracy, since stray light from reflections at optical components of the light path is suppressed. In the generating of photo disruptions or other incisions, the ray exposure of the retina may be reduced in that the incisions being furthest away from the laser are induced first such that laminar gas inclusions with an existence duration time of at least 5 seconds result. In this manner the laser radiation propagated in the direction of the retina in further incisions are scattered and partially reflected such that the influence impinging upon the retina is reduced.

  • Patent number: 10744060
Abstract: A communication system and method are provided for remotely reproducing a touch pattern or gesture as a vibrotactile output. At a touch screen, a first user device receives a touch pattern by a first user, characterizes the touch pattern as a touch pattern data based upon time and intensity of touch at a plurality of array points of the touch screen, and communicates the touch pattern data to a network. A tactile array patch of micro-vibratory devices is attachable to a garment and worn by a second user. The touch pattern data is wirelessly received from the first user device via the network. Vibration of selected micro-vibratory devices of the tactile array is modulated in timing and intensity in response to the touch pattern data to reproduce the touch pattern.
