  • Patent number: 10759019
Abstract: An end point detection method is provided for detecting an end point based on a drive current supplied to a drive unit that rotates and drives one of a polishing table and a holding unit. The end point detection method includes: a step (S102) of determining whether a polishing condition of a polishing process to be executed coincides with a preset specific polishing condition; a step (S103) of adjusting a current control parameter in a drive control unit that controls the drive current, the current control parameter related to a change in the drive current with respect to a change in a driving load of the drive unit, if it is determined that the polishing condition coincides with the specific polishing condition; and a step (S105) of detecting the drive current supplied to the drive unit based on the adjusted current control parameter.

  • Patent number: 10759020
Abstract: In a first step, an output of an eddy current sensor is measured while a polishing target whose film thickness has been known is in contact with the polishing face, thereby obtaining a measurement value of the eddy current sensor which corresponds to the film thickness. In a second step, an output of the eddy current sensor is measured when the polishing target is polished while pressed against the polishing face, thereby obtaining a measurement value of the eddy current sensor that corresponds to a film thickness during polishing. A correspondence relationship between the film thickness of the polishing target and the measurement value of the eddy current sensor is determined from the measurement value obtained in the first step and the measurement value obtained in the second step.

Abstract: A drum sander having a fin for deflecting airflow around the drum and directing dust and debris to a dust collecting outlet. The fin includes a first section at a first angle and a second section at a second angle that directs air movement generated by the operating drum toward the dust collecting outlet. The free edge of the fin is shaped to wrap partially around the drum in two helical inclined planes. A tool free adjustment of parallelism may be provided. The workpieces are pulled through the sander rather than being pushed through. Lightweight materials reduce stress on the assembly. Heat is dissipated by the configuration and material of the drum.

  • Patent number: 10759023
Abstract: Provided are abrasive articles that include a plurality of layers, in the following order: a backing; an abrasive layer; and a supersize coat. The supersize coat contains a metal salt of a long-chain fatty acid and clay particles dispersed therein. Advantageously, the clay particles enhance the optical clarity of the supersize coat, allowing printed abrasive articles to be made with thicker supersize coatings. The addition of clay was also found to improve cut performance of the abrasive article relative to articles in which the clay particles are absent.

Abstract: A control server controls a dual-arm robotic manipulator (DARM) for handling deformable objects in a stack. The control server receives a set of images of the stack captured by a set of image sensors, and determines a contour of the stack based the set of images. Based on the contour and historical data associated with the deformable objects in the stack, the control server determines a sequence of actions to be performed by the DARM for handling a first deformable object in the stack, and controls the DARM to handle the first deformable object by communicating a set of commands corresponding to each action in sequence of actions. The first deformable object is handled such that original form factors of the first deformable object and the remaining stack are maintained.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, an inspection system inspects equipment including a first structural object and a second structural object. The first structural object extends in a first direction. The second structural object is provided around the first structural object. The second structural object has a first surface opposing the first structural object. A first protrusion is provided in the first surface. The first protrusion extends in the first direction. The system includes a robot and a controller. The robot includes an imager. The robot moves between the first structural object and the second structural object. The imager images the first protrusion. The controller detects, from a first image acquired by the imager, a first edge portion of the first protrusion in a circumferential direction around the first direction. The controller controls a movement of the robot by using the detected first edge portion.

Abstract: A system automatically loads a bin with a filled deformable container such as a sack of produce being conveyed along horizontal rollers. A movable support structure has a coupling end attachable to a robotic arm, and a lifting end supporting a plurality of parallel rods. By means of the robotic arm and a programmable logic controller, the plurality of parallel rods can be positioned between and parallel to the horizontal rollers, raised when the container is conveyed to a loading position above the parallel rods, moved to a predetermined position above the bin, and rotated to allow the container to slide downward along the parallel rods and into the bin under force of gravity. The loading sequence can be repeated a number of times, changing the predetermined position each time to stack a plurality of the containers in a desired configuration such as overlapping rows of offset sacks.

  • Patent number: 10759060
Abstract: A bundle gripping tool employs a support ring concentric to a bundle axis and having a first open sector accessing a central aperture. A closure ring mounted on the support ring is concentric with and rotatable about the bundle axis and has a second open sector wherein rotation of the closure ring to an open position at least partially aligns the first and second open sectors exposing the central aperture. Rotation to a closed position misaligns the second open sector from the first open sector, covering the first open sector gating the central aperture. A plurality of snare cables is engaged between a first set of attachment points on the support ring and a second set of attachment points on the closure ring. The first set of attachment points and second set of attachment points are relatively positioned whereby each of said plurality of snare cables partially encircles the bundle axis in the closed position and exposes the bundle axis in the open position.
