Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides a water-absorbing sheet which, with respect to urine having a wide range of salt concentrations (mass %) including 0, has a favorable liquid absorption speed and favorable re-wet, and which has good comfortability for users, including infants, whose urine tends to change in salt concentration due to a change in the user's physical condition. In a water-absorbing sheet (10), a first particulate water-absorbing agent (12a) and a second particulate water-absorbing agent (12b) are localized, the first particulate water-absorbing agent (12a) has a gel permeation rate (GPR) which differs by 10 or more from that of the second particulate water-absorbing agent (12b), and the gel permeation rate of the second particulate water-absorbing agent (12b) is 50 or less.

Abstract: Provided are: a method and apparatus for manufacturing a highly permeable elastic sheet; a method and apparatus for manufacturing a highly gas-permeable stretchable composite sheet; and a highly gas-permeable stretchable composite sheet. An elastic resin material containing a thermoplastic elastic resin as a main component is melted by being heated to a temperature higher than a temperature range in which the elastic resin material is elastically deformed, the molten elastic resin material is discharged in a fibrous or linear form, the discharged elastic resin material (intermediate) is applied in a net shape onto a cooling member, the applied elastic resin material is cooled by the cooling member to the temperature region in which the elastic resin material is elastically deformed, and the applied elastic resin material is solidified to obtain an elastic sheet. The elastic sheet and non-woven fabrics are stacked and joined to obtain a stretchable composite sheet.

Abstract: A method for isolating microorganisms from areas external and proximate a menstruating user's genital area is also disclosed. The method utilizes an absorbent article having a topsheet formed of nonwoven web material having favorable skin-feel qualities associated with nonwovens, and including hydrophilic fibers. A tendency of the topsheet material to absorb and retain discharged menstrual fluid, resulting from presence of hydrophilic fibers, is mitigated by inclusion of an absorbent core structure including suitable absorbent, open-celled foam material disposed directly beneath the topsheet in closely maintained, direct face-to-face contact with the outward-facing surface thereof. The absorbent foam may be suitably manufactured so as to have the ability to effectively draw fluid from the topsheet and retain it away from the topsheet. In such configuration, growth of microorganisms that might by supported by fluid retained by the topsheet, proximate the wearer's skin surfaces, is reduced or prevented.

Abstract: The Protective Cast Cover is a cover you wear over your cast. It is made of fabric, any kind of fabric, waterproof, warm, breathable, what ever kind of fabric will work for an individual's needs. For arms it covers the whole arm with a mitten hand over the top of the shoulder. Some of them are shirts, just depends on what the individual request. The cover for legs covers the foot to the top of thigh and can be made as pants, or as shorts on the opposite side of the leg with the cast. If they are in double casts, then both sides would be made the same. This works for arms or legs. Again, just depends on what the individual request. The protective cast cover is meant to keep sand, or debris or even water out of the cast, and give people less stress about their situation.

Abstract: A cosmetic gel sheet suitable for a cosmetic field or a medical field is provided. The cosmetic gel sheet of the present invention contains carboxy group-containing water-soluble polymer, polyalcohol, and acid as essential constituent components. Carboxy group-containing polysaccharide can be suitably used as the carboxy group-containing water-soluble polymer. Water content in the gel sheet is 30% by weight, but it is more preferable if the water content is 10% by weight or less. In the cosmetic gel sheet of the present invention, the gel sheet can be manufactured by drying an aqueous solution containing carboxy group-containing water-soluble polymer, polyalcohol, and acid as essential components. Wherein, it is desirable that content of the acid in the aqueous solution is adjusted to a value appropriate for setting pH of the aqueous solution to 2.0-4.0.
