Abstract: A multifunctional wound treatment dressing for administering different therapeutic treatments to an open, chronic wound of a human or animal body. The multifunctional wound treatment dressing includes an occlusive wrapping adapted for placing over a wound. The multifunctional wound treatment dressing further includes at least two of the group of electrical, optical or mechanical stimulation means adapted for transmitting electrical, optical or mechanical energy towards the wound to stimulate healing of the wound and/or means for applying a negative (i.e. sub-atmospheric) pressure to the wound. Thus, a variety of different healing stimulation treatments may be performed together or in sequence by wearing the same occlusive wrapping without the need of changing/removing temporarily the wrapping for each change of treatment method.

Abstract: Trimmable conformable wound dressings, kits containing the same and methods of using the same. The wound dressings may protect a treatment site from microbial contamination or other disturbances while a wound heals or to enable the application and maintenance of vacuum over the treatment site. The wound dressings may include first and second sections of support layer material on opposite sides of one or more intermediate sections of support layer material. The first and second sections of support layer material meet the intermediate sections of support layer material along peel tab junctions that provide peel tabs.

Abstract: A barrier system is provided for use in reducing infections associated with post-operative surgical incision and/or a percutaneous medical device, such as a catheter, that is disposed within the surgical incision. Such a barrier system may include: a barrier device having a skin-contacting surface and a catheter-receiving surface; and an adhesive composition configured for adhering to skin, the barrier device, and/or the catheter so as to form a barrier at or adjacent to an incision in the skin where the catheter is percutaneously inserted through the skin. A tensioning anchor and associated system of two or more tensioning anchors is provided for post-operative wound closure. A method for applying and removing the barrier device and tensioning anchors is also provided.

The absorbent article can further include an exudate management layer in fluid communication with the topsheet layer. In various embodiments, the exudate management layer can be positioned on a body facing surface of the topsheet layer. In various embodiments, the exudate management layer can be positioned between the topsheet layer and the absorbent core. The exudate management layer has a first component which defines an opening for direct passage of body exudates into the absorbent core. The exudate management layer has a second component which at least partially overlaps the first component of the exudate management layer and further extends in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article in a direction towards the posterior region of the absorbent article.

Abstract: An elastic laminate including a first nonwoven layer, a second nonwoven layer, and a plurality of elastic strands arranged in parallel with one another between said first and second nonwoven layers is disclosed, as well as a process for the production of the laminate. The elastic laminate includes elastic strands that are stretched and individually coated with an adhesive. The first and second nonwoven layers are attached to the stretched elastic strands to provide a corrugated elastic laminate when the elastic strands are relaxed. At least one of the nonwoven layers is attached to the strands at distinct adhesive bonding points in a repeating predetermined pattern in a lengthwise direction along the strands to form a predetermined corrugation pattern, and the nonwoven layers are substantially free of adhesive, except in the adhesive bonding points where the layers are attached to the elastic strands.

The plurality of recesses, the plurality of projections, and the plurality of land areas together form a first three-dimensional surface on a first side of the substrate and a second three-dimensional surface on a second side of the substrate. The substrate has an overall z-directional height in the range of about 1000 ?m to about 6000 ?m according to the Overall Substrate Height Test.

The diaper structure may include an innermost layer formed of a first nonwoven web, and an outermost layer formed of a second nonwoven web. Abstract: Wheelchair with two independent driving arms fixed to the frame by pivot bearings at a low position. The driving arms extend to a sufficient height for the user to hold their upper portions and to move them in forward-backward directions around the pivotal bearings. Ropes are connected to the lower sections of the driving arms. Two large wheels have wheel hubs equipped with freewheel, and each wheel hub have a rope drums attached with a spring bias, and a winding made of rope. Pulling a the rope in forward direction results in turning the wheel hub in forward direction, and when the rope drum (31, 31?) is turned in the other direction the freewheel releases the connection towards the large wheel. The wheel hub comprises a release mechanism that releases the freewheel when the large wheel is moved in backward direction and backward movement gets allowed.

Abstract: The present invention is directed towards an apparatus for holding a patient in a suspended manner on top of a bed for facilitating bed maintenance. The apparatus comprises at least one support member provided in the proximity of the bed. A hammock is disposed on the bed and is mechanically coupled to the at least one support member for being lifted and lowered by the at least one support member. The support members have a telescopic reciprocating configuration. In one embodiment, the support members include fluid operated cylinders, e.g., hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. In another embodiment, the support member is a mechanically operating support member. The mechanically operating support member includes either a rack and pinion arrangement or a lead screw arrangement.

The Balance and Walking Trainer further comprises two pairs of telescoping risers affixed essentially vertical and also perpendicular to the base frame, wherein the first pair of telescoping risers are aligned substantially with the center wheels. In order for correct body mechanics to be maintained, a user may “scoop” his hands onto the handles to operate the Balance and Walking Trainer with correct body mechanics.

A dome-forming material can be mixed with a catalyst to form a mixture, which can then be poured into a dome-shaped cavity of a die-cast mold. A peg may be inserted into the mixture in the dome-shaped cavity of the die-cast mold. The mixture may be allowed catalyze and harden in the dome-shaped cavity of the die-cast mold, then a molded dome may be removed from the dome-shaped cavity of the die-cast mold. A portion of the molded dome such as the peg may be inserted into a hole in a prepared substrate. The dome may also be prepared by grinding an outer top surface with a drilling attachment. The dome may instead be formed with the use of an insert and a mat template.

Such a system includes a processor configured to communicatively couple to a CPR metrics devices and to an output device and a memory including processor-executable instructions configured to cause the processor to receive, from the CPR metrics devices, treatment data including CPR performance data collected by the CPR metrics devices during medical treatment of one or more individuals, determine, from the CPR performance data, CPR performance metrics including a motion-based chest release parameter and at least one of chest compression depth and chest compression rate, and control the output device to concurrently display time trends of the CPR performance metrics, wherein the time trends indicate values of the CPR performance metrics over two or more equal time intervals during the medical treatment of the one or more individuals.
