  • Patent number: 11103709
Abstract: Systems and methods for pacing cardiac conductive tissue are described. A medical system includes an electrostimulation circuit that may generate His-bundle pacing (HBP) pulses for delivery at or near the His bundle. In response to the delivery of the HBP pulse, the system senses a near-field cardiac activity representative of excitation of a para-Hisian myocardial tissue, and a far-field cardiac activity representative of excitation of the His bundle and a ventricle. The system classifies a tissue response to HBP into one of a plurality of capture types based on the sensed near-field and far-field cardiac activities. The system includes a control circuit to adjust one or more stimulation parameters based on the classified capture type. The electrostimulation circuit generates and delivers the HBP pulses according to the adjusted stimulation parameters to excite the His bundle.

  • Patent number: 11103711
Abstract: Implantable medical devices (IMD) such as those used in Deep Brain Stimulation application are commonly replaced when the device's useful life expires. At the time of replacement, the electrodes that were connected to the initial IMD are typically reused with the replacement IMD. It is desirable for the replacement IMD to utilize the stimulation parameters that were being utilized to provide stimulation in the initial IMD, but it is important that the electrodes be connected to the replacement IMD in a similar manner as they were connected to the initial IMD if stimulation parameters are reused. A connected electrode profile that includes measurements of electrical parameters associated with the electrodes can be generated in the initial IMD and the replacement IMD, and the profiles can be compared to determine whether the electrodes are connected in a similar manner in the replacement IMD as they were in the initial IMD.

  • Patent number: 11103717
Abstract: In embodiments a wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) system is worn by an ambulatory patient. The WCD system analyzes an ECG signal of the patient, to determine whether or not the patient should be given an electric shock to restart their heart. If the WCD system determines that such a shock should be given, then it also determines whether or not a High Frequency (H-F) noise criterion is met by the ECG signal. If that H-F noise criterion is not met, the patient can be shocked. If, however, that H-F noise criterion is met, then the WCD system can confirm before shocking, by sensing another portion of the ECG signal, analyzing again, and so on. Thanks to the confirmation before shocking, the possibility is diminished that the ECG signal will indicate that a shock is needed falsely, due to H-F noise. This can further reduce false patient alarms, and so on.

Abstract: The foldable portable treadmill (10) of the present invention includes left and right treadmill sections (12, 14), each having support rollers (20, 22) and an endless belt (24, 26) with bumps (36, 38) on the outer surface thereof. An electric motor (32) drives the belts. A hinge (40, 42) connects the side edges (16, 18) of the treadmill sections together so that they can be folded over each other for storage or transport. Wheels or rollers (84, 86) carried by at least one of the sections allow the treadmill (10) to be rolled across a floor when the sections are folded together. Telescoping handles (66, 68) are movable between an operative position where they extend upwardly from the treadmill sections when they are opened in order to be grasped by a person using the treadmill and an inoperative position where they can be used for transporting the treadmill when it is closed. When the treadmill sections are open for use, the spacing between them can be adjusted.

Abstract: A system and method for human motion detection and tracking (10) are disclosed. In one embodiment, an optical sensing instrument (16) monitors a stage (24). A memory (182) is accessible to a processor (180) and communicatively coupled to the optical sensing instrument (16). The system (10) captures a depth frame (150) from the optical sensing instrument (16). The depth frame (150) is converted into a designated depth frame format (152), which includes at each image element second coordinate values relative to the depth frame (150). Probability distribution models are applied to the designated depth frame format (152) to identify a respective plurality of body parts. The position of each of the respective plurality of body parts in the designated depth frame format (152) is calculated as is the position of each of the respective plurality of body parts in the depth frame (150).

  • Patent number: 11103750
Abstract: An exercise feedback system monitors the performance of athletes wearing a garment with sensors while exercising. The sensors generate physiological data such as muscle activation data, heart rate data, or data describing the athlete's movement. The system extracts features from the physiological data and compares the features with reference exercise data to determine metrics of performance and biofeedback. Based on the physiological data, the system may also modify exercise training programs for the athlete. The exercise feedback system can display the biofeedback using visuals or audio, as well as modified exercise training programs, via the athlete's client device in real time while the athlete is exercising. By reviewing the biofeedback, the athlete may correct the athlete's exercise form to properly use the target muscles for the exercise, or change the certain workouts to personalize the training program.

Abstract: A training, rehabilitation, and recovery system comprises an exercise apparatus including a user interface member coupled to a plurality of links and joints, brakes capable of resisting movement of at least a subset of the links or joints, and sensors capable of sensing movement at the joints or the user interface member. The system also includes a processor configured to receive from the sensors positional data of the links or joints over an initial movement of the apparatus by a user, from which positional coordinates of the user interface member are calculated and a reference trajectory is established. An end space is defined based on the reference trajectory. Over a subsequent movement of the apparatus by the user, the processor receives additional positional data and determines a completion of a repetition based on the positional coordinates of the subsequent movement and the defined end space.
