Abstract: Systems and methods for processing sensor analyte data are disclosed, including initiating calibration, updating calibration, evaluating clinical acceptability of reference and sensor analyte data, and evaluating the quality of sensor calibration. The sensor can be calibrated using a calibration set of one or more matched sensor and reference analyte data pairs. Reference data resulting from benchtop testing an analyte sensor prior to its insertion can be used to provide initial calibration of the sensor data. Reference data from a short term continuous analyte sensor implanted in a user can be used to initially calibrate or update sensor data from a long term continuous analyte sensor.

Abstract: In an endoscope system, an oxygen-saturation-level calculating unit calculates an oxygen saturation level of the observation target on the basis of a plurality of spectral images acquired by an image acquiring unit. An image creating unit creates an oxygen-saturation-level image that is an image representing the oxygen saturation level. A numerical-value display-position determining unit determines a numerical-value display position for displaying a numerical value of the oxygen saturation level on the oxygen-saturation-level image, on the basis of the spectral images or the oxygen saturation level, or the spectral images and the oxygen saturation level. A display control unit displays the numerical value of the oxygen saturation level on the oxygen-saturation-level image on the basis of the numerical-value display position.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a body attachment unit for continuous blood glucose measurement, in which the body attachment unit is manufactured so as to be assembled in an applicator, thereby minimizing additional work and allowing attachment of the body attachment unit to a body simply by operation of the applicator. In particular, a wireless communication chip is provided in the body attachment unit to enable communication with an external terminal, thereby enabling simple and convenient use without performing additional work of connecting a separate transmitter, and allowing easier maintenance. In addition, activation occurs by a user's operation after the body attachment unit is attached to the body, such that an activation start point in time can be adjusted to an appropriate point in time according to the user's needs, and activation occurs in a stabilized state, thereby providing the body attachment unit allowing more accurate blood glucose measurement.

Abstract: A biological fluid collection device (10) that receives a sample (12) and provides flow-through blood stabilization technology and a precise sample dispensing function for point-of-care and near patient testing applications is disclosed. A biological fluid collection device of the present disclosure is able to effectuate distributed mixing of a sample stabilizer within a blood sample and dispense the stabilized sample in a controlled manner. In this manner, a biological fluid collection device of the present disclosure enables blood micro-sample management, e.g., passive mixing with a sample stabilizer and controlled dispensing, for point-of-care and near patient testing applications. Advantageously, a biological fluid collection device of the present disclosure includes an internal vacuum (28). In this manner, a biological fluid collection device of the present disclosure eliminates the need for additional vacuum creating components that must be connected to the biological fluid collection device during use.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems provide for capturing and sharing objective emotion data in dating interactions for the selection of suitable partners, or to enhance social dynamics in online interactions. An emotion monitoring device (EMD) measures physiological signals, obtained from biosensors, captured from a couple during a face-to-face or online dating interaction, and computes emotion data. The emotion data for each person is transmitted to an internet server, and each person shares their emotion data with the other during the interaction. The emotion data are displayed to each person on a virtual or augmented reality device. In an alternative embodiment for virtual dating games or other online social interactions, the emotion data of a group of users, each equipped with an EMD, are captured, shared and displayed.

Abstract: A method is provided for processing a neural measurement obtained in the presence of noise, in order to detect whether a locally evoked neural response is present in the neural measurement. A first neural measurement is obtained from a first sense electrode. A second neural measurement is contemporaneously obtained from a second sense electrode spaced apart from the first electrode along a neural pathway of the neural response. A neural response decay is determined, being a measure of the decay in the neural response from the first sense electrode to the second sense electrode. A ratio of the neural response decay to an amplitude normalising term is calculated. From the ratio it is determined whether a locally evoked neural response is present in the neural measurement.

Abstract: Transducer-based systems and methods may be configured to display a graphical representation of a transducer-based device, the graphical representation including graphical elements corresponding to transducers of the transducer-based device, and also including between graphical elements respectively associated with a set of the transducers and respectively associated with a region of space between the transducers of the transducer-based device. Selection of graphical elements and/or between graphical elements can cause activation of the set of transducers associated with the selected elements. Transducer activation characteristics, such as initiation time, activation duration, activation sequence, and energy delivery characteristics, can vary based on numerous factors. Visual characteristics of graphical elements and between graphical elements can change based on an activation-status of the corresponding transducers.

Abstract: Various systems, techniques, and embodiments are disclosed for implementing a blood-pressure measurement method that does not require specialized equipment (such as inflatable blood pressure cuffs). The measurement can be taken from arterial locations within a user's finger, via the standard equipment and features of many widely-available consumer mobile devices. Such devices can be programmed to accurately and easily guide a user to press her finger on the screen of a device at a precise location, so that an accurate measurement can be taken. For example, guidance visualizations on a screen (such as finger silhouettes and animations) can be employed on the same screen on which a user presses her finger. Pressure sensitivity and optical camera readings are then used to calculate blood pressure for the user.

The method may involve suppressing one or more signal distorting elements may be from an acquired biopotential signal by decomposing the acquired biopotential signal, identifying the one or more signal distorting elements present in the acquired biopotential signal and reconstructing the decomposed biopotential signal without the one or more identified signal distorting elements. The method may involve determining a physiological parameter by analyzing decomposed elements of an acquired biopotential signal.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to the measurement of a baseline respiratory level in a patient so that changes in respiratory activity can be easily reported. The baseline measurement is collected by a sensor in the patient's chest and a sensor on the patient's abdomen, and is transmitted to a computing device. The computing device measures normal breathing for 60 seconds and uses the waveform collected over this period of time to generate a baseline RR, tidal volume, and minute ventilation. From this point, the patient's RR, tidal volume, and minute ventilation are recorded and compared to the baseline measurements, and if a change from the baseline measurement that exceeds a predetermined threshold is detected, the doctor is alerted that action must be taken for the patient's safety.
