Abstract: A safety glove having a protective member or insert extending around the fingertip of the safety glove is provided. The protective member may be positioned along the outer surface or the inner surface of the glove. Alternatively, the protective member may be integrally formed between two layers of glove material. The protective member terminates distally from an interphalangeal joint line to enable finger flexion in order to grasp an item, such as a slab of meat to be deskinned in a skinning machine. The glove may include a rough outer surface formed from thrice dipping the glove and allowing the glove to cure. Additionally, the glove may have a width near the wrist that is wider than the width near the palm to enable the glove to be rapidly removed (i.e., doffed) in an emergency event of the glove getting caught in a rotating blade on the skinning machine.

Abstract: Concepts provided are directed to a flexible button that is bendable when exposed to a force. The flexible button in accordance herein has a tapered perimeter portion such that a thickness of a peripheral edge of the perimeter portion is less than a thickness of remaining portions of the flexible button. The low-profile of the flexible button allows the flexible button to easily slip through a respective button hole and to be more easily gripped by a user. Further, the flexible button in accordance with aspects herein provides higher breathability than conventional buttons of the same size by having voided portions on its perimeter portion.

Abstract: An extensible jewelry item includes an annular element formed by a plurality of links and an internal titanium or stainless steel spring is mounted to extend each link. Each link has on each side an external female element and an internal male element. The female elements are micro-slots in the extended sections of each links. The male elements are internal micro-posts that extend through the female's slots to restrict the movement of the female elements of the link adjacent thereto away from each other. The micro-size of posts and slots enables the mechanism to be applied to links as small as 2.0 mm×2.0 mm×2.0 mm; therefore, also ideal for fine jewelry rings. In the elliptical version of the extensible jewelry item, the adjacent surfaces of each link are designed with individual specific taper angles; thus, when assembled, the links form an elliptical shape. In the elliptical shape, each link is numbered, and is placed in specific position.
