  • Patent number: 11587311
Abstract: In some embodiments, space objects may be detected within shortwave infrared (SWIR) images captured during the daytime. Some embodiments include obtaining a stacked image by stacking shortwave infrared (SWIR) images. A spatial background-difference image may be generated based on the stacked image, and a matched-filter image may be obtained based on the spatial background-difference image. A binary mask may be generated based on the matched-filter image. The binary mask may include a plurality of bits each of which including a first value or a second value based on whether a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) associated with that bit satisfies a threshold condition. Output data may be generated based on the spatial background-difference image and the binary mask, where the output data provides observations on detected space objects in orbit.

  • Patent number: 11587313
Abstract: A method of identifying a bale of material includes capturing an initial image of a region of an initial bale with an initial image sensor and identifying a unique band pattern of at least one multi-colored band of the initial bale. The identified unique band pattern is associated with the initial bale. Data related to the initial bale is associated with the identified unique band pattern. The identified unique band pattern of the initial bale may then be used as an identifier of the initial bale. A second image of the bale is captured and analyzed to determine if the second image includes the unique band pattern of the at least one multi-colored band, thereby identifying the bale in the second image as the initial bale. The data associated with the initial bale may then be retrieved by an operator.

  • Patent number: 11587321
Abstract: The frame or image of a video stream of a videoconference is divided into a series of segments for analysis. There is a primary grid, which covers the entire frame, and an alternate grid, which is shifted from the primary grid. Each segment is small enough to allow a neural network to efficiently operate on the segment without requiring downsampling. By operating on full resolution images, a participant can be identified at a greater distance from the camera. The entire frame is analyzed at a lower frequency, such as once per five seconds, but each segment containing a participant in the conference is scanned at a higher frequency, such as once per second, to maintain responsiveness to participant movement but also allow the full resolution operation.

Abstract: Ink-processing technology is set forth herein for detecting a gesture that a user performs in the course of interacting with an ink document. The technology operates by identifying a grouping of ink strokes created by the user. The technology then determines whether the grouping expresses a gesture based on a combination of spatial information and image information, both of which describe the grouping. That is, the spatial information describes a sequence of positions traversed by the user in drawing the grouping of ink strokes using an ink capture device, while the image information refers to image content in an image produced by rendering the grouping into image form. The technology also provides a technique for identifying the grouping by successively expanding a region of analysis, to ultimately provide a spatial cluster of ink strokes for analysis.
