Abstract: An electrostatic device includes a top and a bottom silicon layer, around an insulating buried layer. A beam opening allows a beam of charged particles to travel through. The device is encapsulated in an insulating layer. One or more electrodes and ground planes are deposited on the insulating layer. These also cover the inside of the beam opening. Electrodes and ground planes are physically and electrically separated by micro-trenches and micro-undercuts that provide shadow areas when the conductive areas are deposited. Electrodes may be shaped as elongated islands and may include portions overhanging the top silicon layer, supported by electrode-anchors. Manufacturing starts from a single wafer including the top, buried, and bottom layers, or it starts from two separate silicon wafers. Manufacturing includes steps to form the top and bottom beam openings and microstructures, to encapsulate the device in an insulating layer, and to deposit electrodes and ground areas.

Abstract: A deep neural network (“DNN”) module can compress and decompress neuron-generated activation data to reduce the utilization of memory bus bandwidth. The compression unit can receive an uncompressed chunk of data generated by a neuron in the DNN module. The compression unit generates a mask portion and a data portion of a compressed output chunk. The mask portion encodes the presence and location of the zero and non-zero bytes in the uncompressed chunk of data. The data portion stores truncated non-zero bytes from the uncompressed chunk of data. A decompression unit can receive a compressed chunk of data from memory in the DNN processor or memory of an application host. The decompression unit decompresses the compressed chunk of data using the mask portion and the data portion. This can reduce memory bus utilization, allow a DNN module to complete processing operations more quickly, and reduce power consumption.

The catalytic converter is comprised of two catalysts in series that are operated at the same pressures to directly produce synthetic liquid fuels or synthetic natural gas. The carbon conversion efficiency for CO2 to liquid fuels is greater than 45%. The fuel is distilled into a premium diesel fuels (approximately 70 volume %) and naphtha (approximately 30 volume %) which are used directly as “drop-in” fuels without requiring any further processing. Any light hydrocarbons that are present with the carbon dioxide are also converted directly to fuels. This process is directly applicable to the conversion of CO2 collected from ethanol plants, cement plants, power plants, biogas, carbon dioxide/hydrocarbon mixtures from secondary oil recovery, and other carbon dioxide/hydrocarbon streams.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods and materials for determining whether a particular nucleic acid sequence is present in a test sample. Nucleic acid in the sample is treated with a nuclease mixture that generates monoribonucleotides if the target sequence is present. An exemplary nuclease mixture is a CRISPR associated protein that has endonuclease collateral activity (such as Cas12a), in combination with a guide RNA complementary to the target sequence, a reporter oligonucleotide, and an exonuclease. Upon binding of the Cas/gRNA complex to the target sequence in the sample, the endonuclease activity of the Cas protein cleaves the reporter oligonucleotide internally, rendering it suitable for digestion by the exonuclease. Monoribonucleotides that are generated as a consequence are measured by a bioluminescence detection means such as luciferase. The assay method is sufficiently robust, sensitive, and specific for use with a variety of biological test samples, sometimes without amplification.

Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing computer processing resources required to maximize decrementation of an asset without reducing it to zero value over a period. A system may include a target deduction rate database storing time horizons and target deduction rates; a first processor calculating a total real return value and an estimated internal value associated with the asset; and a second processor testing deduction rates against historical data of previous changes in value of the asset and determining for each tested deduction rate and time horizon, historically successful and unsuccessful outcomes for the asset; limiting a percentage of unsuccessful outcomes by selecting, among the tested rates, a target deduction rate that achieves a desired percentage of successful outcomes and excluding remaining tested rates from further processing; and further limiting the percentage of unsuccessful outcomes by adjusting the target deduction rate by a value gap difference to determine the deduction rate.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to system and methods for dynamic scheduling and rescheduling using heterogeneous multi-agent fleet. The embodiments of present disclosure herein address unresolved problem of task allocation using a single solution which is not sufficient for handling various scenarios of multi-agent task allocation problems. For instance, the task allocation becomes more challenging in a scenario where each task has a deadline associated with it and execution time of the tasks cannot be pre-computed as they are dependent on previous tasks. The method of present disclosure provides a scalable solution for dynamic scheduling and rescheduling that handles tasks with multiple pickup and drop locations and dynamic execution time using the agents with heterogeneous speed in a more efficient manner, reducing indirect operating costs and increasing revenue potential while minimizing additional penalty due to run time delays that an agent may encounter.
