  • Patent number: 11672984
Abstract: A gait management apparatus applies stimulation to a user suffering from a neurological disease (such as Parkinson's Disease) gait dysfunction. Motion sensors are arranged to be worn by a patient, and electrical stimulation electrodes are on the legs for stimulation. A controller receives motion sensing signals, and processes these signals to generate stimulation signals for operation of the electrodes to stimulate limb movement upon detection of a gait abnormality. There may be a user actuator for user actuation of electrical stimulation, and the inputs may be a series of taps. The controller may provide signals to prevent occurrence of freezing of gait when it senses that a patient is walking or has an intention to walk. Also, it may apply stimulation at an intensity level which is insufficient for functional muscle stimulation but sufficiently high to trigger activation of efferent nerves.

  • Patent number: 11672989
Abstract: Techniques related to classifying a posture state of a living body are disclosed. One aspect relates to sensing at least one signal indicative of a posture state of a living body. Posture state detection logic classifies the living body as being in a posture state based on the at least one signal, wherein this classification may take into account at least one of posture and activity state of the living body. The posture state detection logic further determines whether the living body is classified in the posture state for at least a predetermined period of time. Response logic is described that initiates a response as a result of the body being classified in the posture state only after the living body has maintained the classified posture state for at least the predetermined period of time. This response may involve a change in therapy, such as neurostimulation therapy, that is delivered to the living body.

  • Patent number: 11672999
Abstract: A method of providing neuromodulation treatment to a patient includes both an assessment procedure prior to the application of magnetic stimulation signal to the patient during a treatment period of time. The assessment procedure is completed prior to the treatment period of time and senses an electroencephalogram (EEG) signal of the person and then an evaluates the EEG signal to obtain a measure of a patient's endogenous brain activity within a selected EEG band of the EEG signal of the patient. A control subsystem adjusts a stimulation protocol parameter used in the generation of the magnetic stimulation signal based upon the measure of a characteristic of the patient's endogenous brain activity obtained during the assessment procedure. The adjusted magnetic signal is then applied to the head of the patient for providing treatment to the patient patient's brain.

  • Patent number: 11673002
Abstract: A transparent loading apparatus (also referred to herein as a “loader”) may partially or entirely comprise transparent material that allows light to pass through the loader and provides the viewer (whether manual or automated) a view of a radioactive seed, a seed carrier, a loading needle, etc. within the loader. In some embodiments, carrier material (e.g., collagen and/or other biocompatible material) and radioactive seeds (e.g., including a metal shielding and radioactive isotope) may transmit light to different degrees. For example, certain carriers, such as collagen carriers, may be translucent, while seeds may be opaque (or mostly opaque) to light. The systems discussed herein allow a viewer to detect location of a seed within a loader, and even within a carrier, because of these different light transmissivity characteristics.

  • Patent number: 11673015
Abstract: A running device and method of using the device are disclosed. The device may include a moveable material within an inner chamber of the running device's housing. In operation, a running device may be held in each hand and the runner may thrust both hands downward prior to landing and quickly bring the devices to a vertical stop after landing. Bringing the devices to a vertical stop may cause the moveable material to collide with the housing and increase the force exerted by the runner on the ground. A delay component may delay the peak force exerted by the material against the housing so that the translation of that force to the ground coincides with the peak force that the runner would have exerted against the ground in the absence of the devices.

  • Patent number: 11673019
Abstract: An exercise machine may include a reciprocating linkage that supports one or more pedals configured to move in a closed loop (e.g., elliptical) path as a user exercises with the machine. The exercise machine may be adjustable to vary a characteristic of the exercise provided by the machine, for example by changing an incline of a rail supporting the reciprocating linkage, and thus an angle of the closed loop path. The exercise machine may vary the incline with a lift mechanism operatively associated with the front upright frame of the machine, which may also support a resistance assembly, all in a compact form factor that may be more aesthetically pleasing and practical for relatively smaller exercise spaces.

  • Patent number: 11673024
Abstract: A system and method for analyzing and improving the performance of a body motion, which requires receiving, by a CPU, sensor data from sensors worn by a user; storing the transmitted sensor data in a data buffer; recognizing that a motion gesture occurred based on a signature of acceleration data in the buffered sensor data, extracting from the data buffer sensor data from a predetermined time window around the moment when the motion gesture occurred; automatically generating a regime file customized for the user based on the extracted sensor data, and generating in real-time a user interface displaying a representation corresponding to the motion indicated by the sensor data, wherein the CPU determines the signature of acceleration data by matching the buffered sensor data with stored motion signatures, wherein the regime file is automatically generated based on diagnostic parameters obtained from the sensor data associated with a motion activity category.

Abstract: A sports ball is configured to enhance detection of spin properties by radar. The ball includes a spherical body having a first reflectivity with respect to radiation generated by a radar to be used in detecting spin of the ball. In addition, the ball includes a plurality of markers. Each of the markers has a second reflectivity with respect to the radiation generated by a radar to be used in detecting spin of the ball. The second reflectivity is different from the first reflectivity. The markers are distributed on the ball so that every great circle extending around an exterior surface of the ball is within a distance d of a projection on the exterior surface of the ball of at least one of the markers. The distance d is less than a radius of the ball.
