Abstract: This disclosure relates to an improved method of producing an animal of a particular breed. The method can comprise the step of determining genetic test results. The genetic test results can relate to one or more genetic characteristics of the animal. The method can also comprise the step of comparing the genetic test results to each other genetic test result of a plurality of other genetic test results to determine a probability that if the first animal is mated with an animal associated with the other genetic test result that resulting offspring would have characteristics each within a predetermined threshold. The method can also comprise the steps of determining the other animal to be a suitable match if the probability is above an acceptable probability threshold, and producing offspring with the animal and at least one of the other animals determined to be a suitable match.

Abstract: A method for trimming equine hoofs with power tools is disclosed that takes care to measure all four hooves of an equine for symmetry of trimming, then carefully trims regions of the hooves to ideal measurements. In another embodiment, the trimming is done in a specific order and in incremental iterations to ensure a perfect hoof trimming. Used properly, the method realigns the keratin tubules found in the make-up of the hoof horn, or wall, which subsequently has the effect of stimulating healthy formation of laminae. By realigning the hoof improves the equine's: skeletal, circulatory, respiratory, nervous, skin, muscle, digestive, urogenital, and lymphatic systems resulting in their healthy operation.

Abstract: Due to their disease transmission, mosquitoes are the deadliest animal, killing over a million people each year. In addition, mosquitoes cause discomfort for adults and especially children who may suffer heavily from mosquito bites. Indeed, a study shows that most respondents considered mosquitoes to be a problem. Unfortunately, a combination of environmental change and urbanization help mosquitoes spread into new areas. Spraying mosquito repellent to eliminate mosquitoes was shown to be harmful for humans as well, and other devices fail to eliminate all mosquitoes. Therefore, we propose the development of an insect killer drone. The drone will include a tiny gun that, once the drone approaches the mosquito, will be able to eliminate it. The system also includes a docking station that detects the mosquitoes and controls the drone. The drone is intended to be autonomous but may allow manual control of the drone and tiny gun.

Surprisingly, application of this single strain of B. licheniformis K-357 reduced nematode hatching and increased nematode mortality in vitro and reduced nematode counts and increased plant vigor and yield in cotton field trials. Nematicidal activity and cotton yield were compared for seed treated with B. licheniformis K-357 to in-furrow application of Aldicarb and Fluopyram, and seed treatment with Abamectin as nematicide. The nematicidal activity of the B. licheniformis K-357 was on par with, and in some cases superior to, that of the chemical treatments. The increases in cotton yield for seed treated with K-357 as nematicide were superior to that of both in-furrow application and seed treatment with the chemical nematicides. Corn seed treated with B. licheniformis K-357 in combination with chemical insecticides and fungicides had decreased root node injury in corn field trials heavily infested with corn rootworm.

Abstract: The present invention includes extruded livestock feed particles comprising a high level of fat and methods of making these animal feed particles. The particles are palatable and digestible by the livestock animals and lead to an enhanced energy intake by the animals. The particles are also flowable. The method includes the use of a vacuum coater to incorporate the fat into extruded animal feed particles. The present invention also includes methods of feeding dairy cows.

Abstract: An edible filling formed of protein-containing solid particles in a fat-containing carrier having lecithin during wet particle size reduction to emulsify before enough starch is added to absorb excess or free fat-containing carrier when mixed together. One preferred particle size reduction method step employs wet grinding of proteins in a ball mill disposed in a fat containing oil or shortening carrier until substantially all of the proteins have been reduced in size to a particle size of less than 40 microns enabling the reduced size protein particles to remain in suspension in the resultant filling for an extended period of time increasing filling storage or shelf life while also producing a filling of more uniform appearance, texture and taste. Lecithin in excess of what is needed for emulsification is added during filling making to protect proteins and absorb excess water in the filling.

Abstract: A meat analogue may include a macrostructure of connected sheared fibers oriented parallel to one another and gaps positioned between the sheared fibers. The macrostructure may include meat and may include a vegetable protein. An extrusion system may include an extruder and a die. The extrusion system may produce a meat analogue. A meat analogue may include an animal protein. The extruder may be connectable to the die. The extrusion system may be configured to direct a material including an animal protein from the extruder to the die and through a fluid path extending through the die. The die may be configured to inject a fat or a fat analogue into the material such that the fat or the fat analogue is embedded but visually distinct from the material including the animal protein when the fat or the fat analogue and the material exit the die.
