Abstract: The present subject matter relates to monitoring traction for a motor vehicle. A vehicle speed and a circumferential speed of the at least one driven wheel are sensed using sensors of the motor vehicle. A control deviation is determined based on a difference of a setpoint wheel slip and an actual wheel slip. The control deviation is input to the PID traction controller. A slip acceleration is determined based on a difference of a wheel acceleration of the at least one driven wheel and a vehicle acceleration determined from the sensed vehicle speed and a circumferential speed of the at least one driven wheel. Using the PID traction controller, a drive torque of the at least one driven wheel is determined from a sum of a P-component, an I-component, and a D-component of the PID traction controller. The drive torque back to the at least one driven wheel.

Abstract: In an embodiment, an autonomous driving system (ADS) determines that a corresponding autonomous driving vehicle (ADV) has stopped on a gradient. The ADS determines a first brake hold pressure based on a first gradient value of the ADV measured at a first point in time. The ADS then applies the first brake hold pressure to a brake system in the ADV. Then, the ADS determines a second brake hold pressure based on a second gradient value of the ADV measured at a second point in time. The ADS then applies the second brake hold pressure to the brake system accordingly.

A system can receive operational parameters associated with both a vehicle and a trailer being towed by the vehicle. The system can also identify a current surface condition and predict, using a neural network, road conditions for a portion of the road which the vehicle is approaching. When distinctions between current and predicted, future conditions are defined, and the system can cause modification of the operational parameters of the vehicle and/or the trailer.

The power consumption of the railway vehicle is managed by a central control unit that receives information representing an amount of electrical traction power required for traction or generated by electrodynamic braking based on a traction demand set by the driver of the railway vehicle. The central control unit additionally receives information representing an amount of electrical auxiliary power demanded by auxiliary devices from control units of the respective auxiliary devices. The total available electrical power, which can be provided by the energy supply line for the railway vehicle, is determined.
