Abstract: A livestock grazing control robotic system provides a movable livestock enclosure than can travel over uneven terrain allowing livestock to graze over different areas, enabling rotational grazing in a cash crop farmland during non-crop time periods. The system includes an enclosure or pen defined by a fencing mechanism. The fencing mechanism is supported by a movable chassis that includes a drivetrain system. The fencing mechanism includes a ground-clearance portion that flexibly covers the area between the chassis and the uneven ground, preventing animals from entering or exiting the enclosure and that can be raised and lowered on command to enable moving of the enclosure. The fencing mechanism may hold water for watering livestock. The system further includes a control module and a power supply that enable autonomous movement of the enclosure according to a grazing plan. The system may receive water and be towed by a water delivery vehicle.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for detecting carbon emission-involved gas from a ruminant is provided, including: continuously receiving ear tag information of the ruminant in a monitoring range; determining an operation state of a feed supply system based on the ear tag information; and determining, based on collected emitted gas from the ruminant during eating, an emission rate of carbon emission-involved gas in the emitted gas when it is determined that the feed supply system is in a continuous operation state. In the method, apparatus and system, the ear tag information of the ruminant is detected to determine whether there is a ruminant in a detection area and feeding information of the ruminant, then the operation state of the feed supply system is controlled, and an intelligent information technology is used to acquire the emission rate of the carbon emission-involved gas matching the identity of the ruminant.

Abstract: The invention is an apparatus which houses and facilitate insect breeding, including but not limited to the breeding of black soldier flies (Hermetia illucens). Embodiments of the invention house insects before, during, and after the mating process. Insects are inserted into the invention usually in a pre-sexually mature state (e.g. the larvae, prepupae, or pupae state). After a period of time, the insects become sexually mature and are able to mate. After mating, the insects are attracted to lay eggs (oviposit) onto egg collection substrates within the invention. Embodiments of the invention allow for the insect eggs to be collected periodically, and/or allows for the insect eggs to hatch in which case the newly emerged insects (e.g. larvae) are retrieved as frequently as desired.

Abstract: The invention provides activated or inactivated compositions combining quaternary ammonium compounds and anionic surfactants or acids. The invention further provides activated or inactivated compositions combining quaternary ammonium compounds and anionic chelants or polymers. Activated antimicrobial compositions comprised of a quaternary ammonium compound having less than a C20 chain length, and an anionic carboxylate surfactant having C6-C10 chain length are disclosed. Activated compositions of the invention have a pH of between about 1 and 7 and are substantially free of silanes, sulfates and oxidants. Inactivated antimicrobial compositions comprised of a quaternary ammonium compound having less than a C-20 chain length, and an anionic sulfate or sulfonate surfactant are disclosed. Compositions of the invention have a 10 mole to 1 moles ratio of quaternary ammonium compound to anionic surfactant or about 1 mole to 10 moles ratio. Methods of making and employing the compositions are disclosed.

Abstract: Compositions are provided that include: (i) baicalin, or mangiferin and swertiamarin, or mangiferin and hesperidin; (ii) glutathione; and (iii) chitosan. The compositions can kill root knot nematodes within a few seconds of contact and kill larvae of the insects of Coleoptera within 3-18 minutes. Seed treatment with the compositions in combination with a commercial chemical fungicide resulted in enhanced antifungal activity and improved seedling germination and early root growth. Liquid application of the compositions to soil in a greenhouse pot assay with soybean seedlings can result in fewer nematode eggs relative to an industry standard chemical nematicide and application of the compositions to soil in furrow can enhance corn yield relative to a commercial chemical nematicide.
