Abstract: The Spherical Cage Pitch Training Device with Spinning Ball is a pitch training device or apparatus in the form of a spinning ball that can simulate any ball requiring gripping by the hand. In use, it is attached to a three-dimensional resistance means. The purpose of the pitch training device is to provide strengthening, rehabilitation, and/or correct body motion mechanics training to improve pitching quality, speed, strength, and body mechanics. This enables training, exercising, and rehabilitation of proper body motion mechanics for improving the act of pitching and increasing the performance (speed and/or accuracy) of the act by enabling weighted ball training wherein the weight of the ball is connected to and maintained in the center of the ball and the center of mass of the weight is maintained in the center (physical, geometric, and/or dimensional) of the ball.

The device allows for maximum amount of golf ball practice putts in a very short period of time. Balls are dropped on the practice putting surface from the device storage bag. The self-balancing device is placed at the desired putting target location and putting practice can begin. The method includes generating a user space score using the characteristics of the physical objects identified in the real-world space. The method includes comparing the user space score to a game space score that is predefined for the game. The comparing is used to produce a fit handicap for the AR gameplay of the game in the real-world space by the user. Adjustments to gameplay parameters may be made to compensate or adjust the fit handicap.

The singular 3D map may be a graphical representation of the real world using nodes that represent 3D maps generated by image data captured at client devices and edges that represent transformations between the nodes.

Abstract: Locomotion-based motion sickness has long been a complaint amongst virtual reality gamers and drone pilots. Traditional head-mounted display experiences require a handheld controller (e.g. thumbstick, touchpad, gamepad, keyboard, etc.) for locomotion. Teleportation compromises immersive presence and smooth navigation leads to sensory imbalances that can cause dizziness and nausea (even when using room-scale sensor systems). Designers have therefore had to choose between comfort and immersion. The invention is a hands-free, body-based navigation technology that puts the participant's body in direct control of movement through virtual space. Participants lean forward to advance in space; lean back to reverse; tip left or right to strafe/sidestep; and rotate to look around. In some embodiments, the more a participant leans, the faster they go.

Abstract: A means to exploit the Dean Vortices for dynamic filtering on a macro scale intended for application in utility and industrial processes is disclosed. This method relies on an apparatus of computed construction to optimize the centripetal force and minimize the effect of gravity on the separation and effectiveness of the Dean Vortices. The method is also supported by an apparatus of construction which results in an optimized elliptical flow channel that enhances the formation and persistence of the Dean Vortices.
