  • Patent number: 11985932
Abstract: A problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a non-natural plant in which expression of a gene of interest is induced and a method for producing the same. Particularly, the present invention relates to a non-natural plant in which the expression of the gene is stably induced even in the absence of a physical or chemical stimulus inducing the expression of the gene, and a method for producing the same. When the induction of the expression of the gene enhances a trait of a plant of interest, the present invention provides a non-natural plant in which the trait is enhanced and a method for producing the same. To solve the problem, a non-natural regenerated plant in which the expression of the gene is induced can be produced by forming a callus from a portion of the plant of interest and then subjecting the callus to a treatment by which the expression of the gene is induced.

Abstract: A clip for attaching a fishing line to a kite line. The clip mounts on the housing for loosely supporting the fishing line. The clip includes a pair of top rollers and a bottom roller aligned in parallel during operation. The rollers rotate freely to prevent twisting of the kite line. The rollers do cooperate to hold the kite line and prevent axial motion between the kite line and the rollers of the clip. The clip is moveable between a locked configuration where the clip is secured axially to the fishing line and is capable of holding the fishing line, to an unlocked configuration that releases the fishing line. When bait at one end of the fishing line is hit or tugged, the clip releases both the fishing line and the kite line to enable the clip to slid down the kite line away from the kite and fishing line.

The trapping mechanism operates in the same fashion as a single-spring body gripping style trap with a pair of corresponding jaws, trigger mechanism made from a trigger and dog and a peripheral spring that biases the set jaws into the sprung position, thereby gripping and killing the animal within the housing. Opposite from the spring the improved trap incorporates a post that allows the jaws to rotate as intended but maintains them in place within the housing with a fastener.

Abstract: Biocidal coatings include flake shaped particles that are deposed with a vertical orientation to form a coating which is biocidal to pathogens including viruses, bacteria, biofilms, fungi, microbes, algae, and other pathogens. In some embodiments, the pathogen membrane becomes lacerated when contacting the blade shaped flake particle. In other embodiments, a flake shaped particle which is a semiconductor generates radicals, or hydroxyls, or oxidizers, which transit to pathogens, and stress or deactivate the pathogens. In still more embodiments, this generation of radicals, hydroxyls, or oxidizers by the semiconductive flake shaped particle is increased with light irradiation.
