  • Patent number: 11992732
Abstract: In one aspect, a swimjet system may include a reverse thrust system worn by a swimmer proximate the frontal upper torso. The system provides a variable amount of reverse thrust such that the user can swim-in-place or make gradual forward progress. Importantly, this may enable a user to effectively “extend” a small residential pool to serve the same function as a twenty-five meter pool typically found at commercial or government facilities. The system also provides laminar current under the user while swimming, which solves the problems of “leg drop,” the need to “out-kick” the arm stroke, and turbulence and wave action around the head associated with conventional swim-in-place devices. Still further, in certain embodiments the system provides a relatively strong current in the region of the arm stroke moving away from the swimmer which provides enhanced “resistance” for proficient swimmers.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for experimentally optimizing information quality and engagement in crowd sourced evaluation systems. It allows estimating efficiencies of different strategies to provide the greatest opportunity for social learning. It can be used for continuous tuning of social feedback. Also disclosed is a system that allows experimentation with crowd sourced evaluations of virtual services. The experimental system supports large scale online recruitment of participants into web-browser 3D virtual world. The virtual world can be designed to approximate several types of real-world, distributed information systems. Social influences can be experimentally introduced into the feedback system in order to empirically optimize its utility.

  • Patent number: 11992768
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enhanced pose generation based on generative modeling. An example method includes accessing an autoencoder trained based on poses of real-world persons, each pose being defined based on location information associated with joints, with the autoencoder being trained to map an input pose to a feature encoding associated with a latent feature space. Information identifying, at least, a first pose and a second pose associated with a character configured for inclusion in an in-game world is obtained via user input, with each of the poses being defined based on location information associated with the joints and with the joints being included on a skeleton associated with the character. Feature encodings associated with the first pose and the second pose are generated based on the autoencoder. Output poses are generated based on transition information associated with the first pose and the second pose.
