Abstract: A system includes a user interface and a processor. The user interface is configured to receive a user-selected confidence level of measurement of intraocular pressure (IOP) for detecting vacuum surge in a phacoemulsification system. The processor is configured to (i) based on the user-selected confidence level, calculate a number of IOP readings needed during phacoemulsification procedure to identify an imminent vacuum surge, (ii) during the phacoemulsification procedure, receiving sensor readings of IOP, (iii) upon reaching the calculated number of the readings, estimate whether a consistent drop in IOP occurred between the readings, and (iv) upon estimating a consistent drop in IOP, activate an anti-vacuum surge (AVS) mechanism to mitigate the imminent vacuum surge.

Then, applying vibroacoustic energy at different frequencies, the apparatus creates sensations of vibrational patterns within the body, comprised of areas of high vibration and relative stillness. The apparatus allows a person to physically feel modal vibrations within their own body. The vibroacoustic sensations are pleasant and may ease pain, enhance calm, and increase relaxation.

Abstract: An electric medicine grinder includes a storing base and a grinding base detachably connected together, and a grinding assembly and an operating module mounted on the grinding base. The grinding assembly includes a driving motor and a breaking tool. The breaking tool is mounted in a storing recess of the storing base. The operating module is electrically connected with the driving motor, and is configured to provide electric power for operation of the driving motor. Medicines can be ground into powder simply by pressing the starting switch, which is time and labor saving. It is useful to reduce the ground medicine remaining in the storing recess and on the breaking tool. A total amount of medicine taken by the patient is not reduced and no ground medicines would be remained in the electric medicine grinder and mix with the subsequent ground medicines to cause adverse effects to the patient.

Abstract: A system and method for simulating the natural breastfeeding process both through flow rate and through nipple shape is disclosed. The system provides bottles designed after a woman's own breast, rather than a “one-size fits many” generic bottle sold in stores. The system accurately represents the shape of mother's unique nipple types, and use fluid dynamics analysis to match the flow characteristics of bottle nipples to that of actual lactation averages, incorporating dynamic infant suckling pressures. This results in a threaded nipple attachment which provides an affordable way to closely replicate a mother's nipple in terms of shape and flow, such that a nursing baby is not confused by the difference between the two. This in turn increases latching, both within situations where the mother is asserting strictly natural milk, but also where she is sometimes nursing, and sometimes using baby-formula from a bottle.
