Abstract: An agricultural spray system may have several nozzles oriented in an airstream. A controller may sense the presence or absence of foliage over many points, then determine which nozzle to activate and for how long. Each nozzle may spray in a fixed direction, and therefore may be assigned a zone for application. A real time calculation may be made to apply product through the nozzle based on the amount of foliage in a nozzle's zone at that instant. In some cases, the amount of material demanded for a nozzle may be higher than that nozzle can deliver, leading to a situation where the demanded duty cycle may be higher than 100% for that nozzle at that time. After passing through a particular field, the duty cycle of the nozzles over the field may be analyzed, and from that analysis, recommended changes to the nozzle sizes, traverse speed, or other factors may be made to increase the coverage and spray efficiency of the spray system.

Abstract: A system to perform vine removal includes a winch. The winch includes a mount configured to secure the winch to a stationary object. A drum is connected to the mount and configured to rotate bi-directionally. A cable is mounted to the drum such that rotation of the drum in a first direction releases the cable from the drum and rotation of the drum in a second direction spools the cable onto the drum. A securing implement is attached to an end of the cable. The securing implement is configured to attach to one or more vines such that operation of the drum in the second direction pulls the one or move vines toward the winch.

Abstract: Methods to improve retention of propanediol mononitrate and derivatives thereof in a powderous formulation comprising the propane diol mononitrate and silica include forming a uniform mixture of (i) the powderous formulation and (ii) at least one inorganic carbonate in an amount to achieve a weight ratio of the at least one inorganic carbonate to the powderous formulation of at least 1:1. The at least one inorganic carbonate is present in an amount such that a weight ratio (w/w) in the uniform mixture of the at least one inorganic carbonate to the compound of formula (1) is at least 50:1 sufficient to achieve storage stability of the uniform mixture such that retention of the compound of formula (I) is improved by at least 10% when stored in a closed container for 1 month at 25° C. and 50% relative humidity as compared to a mixture which does not include the at least one inorganic carbonate.

Abstract: A pet treat pocket that includes a first pocket disposed on a top surface of a flexible member and a second pocket disposed on a lower surface of the flexible member. The pockets each define an interior volume sized to encapsulate a pill or liquid medication, respectively. An exterior length of each pocket is less than a length of the flexible member, and an exterior width of each pocket is less than a width of the flexible member such that the flexible member extends beyond the exterior dimensions of each pocket forming a lip surrounding a circumference of each pocket. The flexible member and the pockets are both composed of an ingestible and pet-safe material. The ingestible and pet-safe material may adhere to itself such that the flexible material may be molded to completely envelope the pockets and maintain a sealed configuration.
