  • Patent number: 12168245
Abstract: A base supports an inclined screen having a uniform mesh selected to remove larger aggregate from a first cement mixture to form a second cement mixture that passes through the screen. A powered vibrator vibrates the screen to separate the concrete mixtures and larger aggregate. Springs and/or dampers in support legs isolate the vibrating screen from the base. A guide frame on the top surface of the screen guides the first concrete mixture along the screen and guide the separated aggregate out a bottom opening into an aggregate container. A support frame on the bottom surface of the screen stiffens the screen to help support the weight of the concrete. A concrete container, preferably wheeled, is below the screen to collect the second concrete mixture and move it to its use location.

  • Patent number: 12168256
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for forming a metal article by additive manufacturing and related apparatus for performing the method. A metal particle suspension including a UV-curable polymeric resin liquid medium, and metal particles distributed throughout the liquid medium is deposited and cured by spatially selective exposure to UV radiation in a layer-by-layer process. Metal particle size can be selected in combination with the applied layer thickness to ensure complete cure throughout the applied layer while providing a high print speed and high spatial resolution. Intermittent or periodic partial curing of an applied layer can be used to maintain a homogeneous distribution of metal particles in the applied layer prior to full curing. The final product is achieved after sintering, which removes the cured binder in a debinding step and also provides the desired final article at close to the full density.

  • Patent number: 12168257
Abstract: Articles are manufactured using self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) reactions. Particulates including reactants can be blended to form a particulate blend. The particulate blend can be preformed. The preform article can be heated to a pre-heat temperature being below an auto-activation temperature and above a minimum compression activated synthesis temperature. Compressive stress can be exerted on the preform article at the pre-heat temperature to initiate the SHS reaction between the reactants and thereby form a product metallic compound. At approximately peak temperature, a flow stress of the product metallic compound can be exceeded to substantially reduce porosity and thereby form a shaped substantially dense article.

  • Patent number: 12168263
Abstract: A laser processing head for a laser beam uses actuators engaged with a delivery fiber end to deflect the fiber end relative to an optical axis. The laser beam from the fiber end is collimated by a collimator and is then focused by a focusing component disposed in the head beyond the collimator to a focal point. The focal point of the laser beam is deflected from the optical axis in relation to the deflection of the fiber end. The fiber end and the actuators are housed in a sealed module. Deflection of the laser beam can be sensed by reflecting portion of the laser beam to a sensing element so a control system can monitor and control the fiber end's movement. A mode-stripper in the sealed module removes light from cladding of the delivery fiber, and an actively cooled absorber in the module around the fiber absorbs the energy.

The sealing element is mounted within the housing and rests sealingly against the machine element. A bypass line runs around the sealing element and fluidly connects the upstream pressure chamber to the downstream pressure chamber. A throttle element designed to reduce the pressure of a flowing leakage fluid by a predetermined pressure difference is arranged in the bypass line.

Abstract: A conditioner for filtering and drying recyclable abrasive media, such as steel grit, garnet, or other abrasive media used for abrasive blasting operations for steel structures, such as bridges, tanks, and marine vessels that are being repainted. The conditioner may include a pre-classifier (e.g., a trommel) to separate or filter the abrasive media from larger debris that may be vacuumed with the abrasive media during resurfacing operations. A dryer may use radiation elements (e.g., infrared (IR) lamps) positioned above a conveyor (e.g., vibration tray) that moves the abrasive media beneath the radiation elements. Vacuum airflow may bypass the dryer except for a portion of the vacuum airflow used to remove moisture from the dryer while drying the abrasive media. The conditioner may have a drying portion or the entirety under negative pressures.
