  • Patent number: 11785977
Abstract: A juice pressing machine and methods for pressing juice from a foodstuff includes embodiments having a removable pressing chamber and one or more filters which may be assembled and loaded with macerated foodstuff to form thin layers separated by a pressing plate. Once a juicing operation has been completed, the pressing chamber can be removed from the machine for emptying the pressed filters and solids contents therein. The empty pressing chamber may then be rinsed if needed and reattached to the machine for a subsequent pressing operation with newly filled filter(s). The platen may also be easily removed from the machine for cleaning as desired.

  • Patent number: 9011309
Abstract: An electromagnetic radiation activated device comprises a property changing material and at least one functionalized fullerene that upon irradiation of the functionalized fullerenes with electromagnetic radiation of one or more frequencies a thermally activated chemical or physical transformation occurs in the property changing material. The thermal activated transformation of the property changing material is triggered by the heating or combustion of the functionalized fullerenes upon their irradiation. The device can include a chemical agent that is embedded in the property changing material and is released when the material is heated by the functionalized fullerenes upon irradiation.

  • Patent number: 8776681
Abstract: An apparatus and method for densifying a fibrous mat, such as scrim, to achieve a uniform mat density, comprising a set of parallel bars each having a row of pins extending downward therefrom which can engage the mat fibers, a plurality of shafts along which the bars slide so as to maintain the bars parallel, a plurality of extendable accordion linkages connecting the set of bars, and a linear positioning assembly having a reciprocating drive mechanism coupled to one of the bars which can move the bars in response to an actuation signal. As the drive mechanism retracts the bar to which it is coupled the spacing between the rows of bars is decreased uniformly and the rows of pins draw the fibers together and compress them uniformly across the width of the mat.

  • Patent number: 7708044
Abstract: A molding apparatus of a wet friction material has a pair of guide posts vertically extending on a molding apparatus main body. The pair of the guide posts passes through fifteen stages (sixteen pieces) of molding dies. A pair of pantograph-type open-close mechanisms is attached to opposite side surfaces of the molding dies. Thus, the molding dies are piled up on each other so as to come near to each other (mold clamping) and move apart from each other (mold opening). With the pantograph-type open-close link mechanism, all the molding dies are opened and closed at the same time. If the molding dies are slid at a speed of 200 mm/sec, it takes only 3.75 seconds (50 mm*15/200 mm=3.75 sec). It takes a double of that time or 7.5 seconds, that is a half of the time of a related art.

  • Patent number: 6626094
Abstract: In a filter press, a stack of vertically oriented, horizontally displaceable filter plates enclose filter chambers therebetween. The filter plates are successively moved relative to each other from a closed pressing position, through a pressure relief position, to an open discharge position. At least one connecting element is connected to each filter plate, and is movably coupled to the respective adjacent filter plate by a coupling pin, which slides in a specially configured groove of the connecting element. In the relief position, a respective coupling pin is stopped against an intermediate blocking surface of the groove of the connecting element of the next adjacent filter plate, thereby preventing further horizontal displacement. By unlatching the connecting element, the coupling pin can then slide to a stop surface of the groove, to allow the adjacent filter plates to be displaced farther into the open discharge position.

  • Patent number: 5613435
Abstract: In a method for palletizing tube sections of paper or similar materials closed by means of a longitudinally glued seam into a tube form for producing sacks or bags, the tube sections are supplied in the form of tube packages from a tube machine with loading equipment to a palletizing apparatus. The tube packages are turned over individually or in groups with this loading equipment to a respective supporting base of a multideck pallet and held, compressed flat on their respective supporting base in a storage position of the pallet between the process of palletizing and a later depalletizing. To implement a palletizing process, the respective tube package is lifted into the loader and then moved into the pallet into a position, in which it is a distance above the supporting base. When it reaches the intended position, it carries out a vertical deposition motion and is deposited on the supporting base.

  • Patent number: 5445733
Abstract: A plate filter press includes a plurality of face-to-face arranged filter plates movable into open and closed positions. Any two adjoining filter plates together define a filter chamber bounded by a continuous, raised sealing edge carried on at least one of the two adjoining filter plates. Separate heavy liquid intake members constituted by tubular bars are in fluid communication with each filter chamber. The sealing edges are provided with a respective recess extending in a longitudinal direction of the sealing edges. The tubular bars extend in the longitudinal direction and are sealingly received in the respective recesses in the closed position. Each tubular bar has a liquid outlet opening, and each sealing edge is provided with a transverse liquid passage situated between the recess and the filter chamber.

  • Patent number: 5056428
Abstract: A device for compacting used tires has a rigid base member, a pair of columns rising from the base member, a top beam joining the uppermost extremities of the columns, and a movable engagement member adapted to slide upon the columns. A shaft vertically penetrates the top beam and is pivotally attached to the engagement member. In use, tires are stacked upon the base member, and the shaft, which is essentially a piston component emergent from a pressurized fluid chamber, is caused to force the engagement member downwardly. At the downwardmost point of travel of the engagement member, the tires are tied to form a bale. Retaining assemblies adjustably positioned upon the columns permit tires to be accumulated in multiple pressings prior to baling.

  • Patent number: 4265749
Abstract: A chamber filter press embodying movable filter plates suspended for movement along horizontal guides by an endless transporting assembly driven by a reversible motor and carrying dogging members which cooperate with cams on the filter plates as the press is opened. A switch connected to a time control device reverses the motor when the filter plate which has just been moved rests against the previously moved filter plate and at the end of a preset time the time control device switches the motor from reverse to forward motion. The motor is stopped by a limit switch which is operated by a dogging member at the end of a preset time after the last filter plate has been moved forward.

  • Patent number: 4246117
Abstract: A filter press includes a plurality of plates made of a rigid material resting on a pair of parallel horizontal supports by means of lugs extending from opposite sides of the plates. The supports are attached at one end to a fixed headstock having a liquid inlet and at the other end to a hydraulic ram assembly, each plate supporting a sheet of filter material, and being mounted in a row so that they can be arranged in a first, working, configuration wherein they are all clamped together and a second, cleaning, configuration wherein there is a gap between a selected two of the plates to allow removal of residue therefrom. The filter press has a drive which operates to move the plates one by one into abutting relationship adjacent the headstock before they are clamped by the ram action and which can be reversed to separate the plates and move them one by one to positions remote from the headstock for cleaning so that the gap between any selected two of the plates is constant.
