Patent number: 12091850Abstract: Systems and methods for deployment, storage, transport of expandable room dividers. The systems may include a frame configured to lock room divider panels compactly stacked against each other for storage and transport. The frame may retain a non-releasable panel and maintain it vertically upright. That panel may be hinged along a non-retained vertical edge to a closest of a plurality of panels movable with respect to the non-releasable panel. The plurality's panels are serially hinged together, accordion-like, along vertical edges. Hinge angles between adjacent stacked panels are approximately zero degrees. Movable panels are sequentially moved from the frame by user-control opening a locking mechanism. Hinge angles between adjacent panels of the plurality of moved panels, and between the non-releasable panel and its adjacent movable panel, are increased to expand the room divider. The locking mechanism gates return of panels to, and when unopened blocks their movement from, the non-releasable panel.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2021Date of Patent: September 17, 2024Assignee: NPS Public Furniture Corp.Inventors: Elliot Levy, Alexander Crudo

Patent number: 3990496Abstract: An apparatus for handling compacted blocks of compost, soil or the like material comprising a chamber defined by two relatively movable plates in which a batch of material is compacted at a compacting station. The chamber is moved to a depositing station at which the block is removed by firstly retracting one of the plates while the other plate holds the block, and then by retracting the other plate, leaving the block deposited on a platform. The apparatus desirably is in the form of a wheel assembly having plates defining a number of chambers radiating from the wheel axis and there is means for indexing the wheel so that each chamber moves in turn from the compacting station to the depositing station.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1974Date of Patent: November 9, 1976Assignee: Monomech Developments LimitedInventors: Paul James Middlebrook, Bernard Paul Grace, Peter Woodward

Patent number: 3962846Abstract: Wrapping sheets are propelled across the opposed platens of a baling press. After compression, the press box is removed from the bale, and thereafter wrapper folding members move along the bale walls to fold the freed edge portions of the wrapping sheets thereagainst. Finally, while the folds are held, securing bands are applied about the bale which is then released and removed.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 1975Date of Patent: June 15, 1976Assignee: Hardwicke-Etter CompanyInventors: Joseph C. Patent number: 3958392Abstract: Method and apparatus for packaging articles in a heat-shrinkable film. The packaging assembly includes a rotary drive means and a plurality of radial arms engagable with the drive means. An article handling apparatus consisting of a lower platen and an upper, pressure-applying platen is carried by each arm. At a loading station, a stack of the articles to be packed is compressed to a predetermined amount and a heat-shrinkable bag is applied about the package. The compressed package with the heat-shrinkable bag is then engaged with the drive means and then is directed through a heating tunnel and cooling station where it is heated and cooled for a sufficient time and at a sufficient temperature to cause the bag to shrink around the still compressed stack holding it to a positive fixed repeatable height dimension while leaving an opening in the bag at the top. The thus enclosed stack is then sent to a discharged station where it is delivered to a conveyor means or other suitable stack-handling means.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1975Date of Patent: May 25, 1976Assignee: H.
