Patent number: 8353108Abstract: A utensil has first and second arm members of substantially the same size and shape. Each arm member has a head section and a handle section. The head sections are concave or scoop-like in configuration and are connected by a rotatable hinge which permits rotation of the arm members in relation to each other. The head section of the first arm members has elongated openings through which spreadable food can be expelled. The head section of the second arm member is solid. With the first arm member nested within the second arm member, spreadable food is scooped onto the utensil, specifically on the top surface of the first arm member. Rotation of the second arm member around the first arm member such that the second arm member is now nested within the first arm member, causes the food to be expelled from the openings in the first arm member, where the food can be easily spread on bread and or food items.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2010Date of Patent: January 15, 2013Inventor: Bruce Blitz

Publication number: 20020069769Abstract: A plier-like garlic press having an upper grip and a lower grip. Both grips are connected to one another via a pivot. On the upper grip is formed a head in which a pressing plunger is linkedly mounted. The pressing plunger presses with a pressing plunger plate on a sieve-like, perforated base plate. The base plate is mounted separably on the lower end of the chamber which accommodates the product to be pressed. Preferably the sieve-like, perforated base plate is formed as an insertable element with a lock. The garlic press may be easily cleaned by removing the perforated base plate.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2001Publication date: June 13, 2002Inventor: Bruno Herren

Patent number: 6237474Abstract: A manually operated, two lever arm type garlic press is provided which a detachably associated cleaning plate that is stored at the front end of the one of the lever arms (preferably, the first lever arm). The cleaning plate is provided with projections on its inner surface which are adopted to engage with apertures in the floor plate of the press chamber so as to clean debris from the apertures after usage of the garlic press. During storage, the projections extend forwardly from the associated lever arm. The cleaning plate is provided with opposing side clips and with top and bottom stabilizing legs that coact together and cooperate with side portions of the associated lever arm adjacent to the front end to hold the cleaning plate relative to that lever arm. Preferably, the top stabilizing leg also functions as a lock to retain the lever arms in a closed configuration during garlic press storage.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2000Date of Patent: May 29, 2001Assignee: The Pampered Chef, Ltd.Inventors: Kevin G. Patent number: 6234074Abstract: The packaged food fluid extractor has a container lever attached to a compression lever at a pivot point such that when the two are squeezed together compression of food in a food container extracts fluids from the foods. The compression lever has a piston attached with a perforated disk attached at the bottom end located to allow insertion in the top of an open food container. When such food container is placed in the recess of the container lever and the perforated disk is located on top of the food contents, the squeezing of the two levers together, similar to pliers, compresses the food and fluids are extracted.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1999Date of Patent: May 22, 2001Inventor: Steven Mangum

Patent number: 6227104Abstract: A draining device adapted for draining liquids from canned goods and for removing severed lids from canned goods includes an upper handle assembly, a lower handle assembly, a food-press member, a pin for attaching the food-press member to the upper handle, and a pin for pivotally attaching adjacent respective distal ends of assemblies to permit the upper handle of the upper handle assembly and the lower handle of the lower handle assembly to be moved toward and away from each other between a closed position and an opened position. The upper handle assembly has the upper handle. The lower handle assembly has the lower handle and a truncated, circular can-support member. The food-press member, which is located directly above the can-support member and is attached to the upper handle, may be downwardly advanced toward the bottom of a supported can to press down on the lid and the contents inside the can.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 1999Date of Patent: May 8, 2001Inventor: Tedrowe Watkins, Jr.
