Patent number: 8869691Abstract: A mushroom compost compacting system and method includes a hydraulically activated tamper platen to compact compost held within a mushroom compost receptacle. The tamper platen has engageable arms extendable from opposite ends of the top surface of the platen and that each connect to a respective hydraulic piston or cylinder. The hydraulic pistons or cylinders link to respective ends of a brace bar disposed beneath the floor portion of the compost receptacle. Tamping compression of the tamper platen compresses compost between the tamper platen and the brace bar. In one embodiment, the hydraulic pistons are installed in or joined to fixtures, which fixtures may have trolley wheels therein to permit relative movement between the fixtures and guide rails supporting the fixtures so that the mushroom compost compacting system may be traversed along the length of all or a portion of the compost receptacle.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2013Date of Patent: October 28, 2014Assignee: Pannell Manufacturing Corp.Inventor: Robert T. Patent number: 7883331Abstract: A material handling system for a hydrolyzer, comprising a material injection assembly further comprising a ram, a cylinder having a cylinder shaft for reciprocating the ram upon actuation of the cylinder shaft, a sleeve having an interior in which the ram reciprocates during use; a gate having a gate plate operable from between an open and a closed position; the gate plate has an aperture formed therethrough and the aperture is sized to enable a plug of compressed municipal solid waste to pass through it when the gate plate is in the open position; and a material exit assembly. The preferred material handling system further comprises a gate plate is interpositioned between the pair of space apart end plates and reciprocates freely therebetween. The end plates are configured to allow a plug of municipal solid waste to pass therethrough.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2009Date of Patent: February 8, 2011Assignee: Bouldin CorporationInventor: Floyd Eugene Bouldin

Patent number: 7153128Abstract: A thermal pressing machine has a case in which a fixed-side press plate is fixedly provided, a main shaft to which a moving side press plate is attached, a lever arm pivotally attached to the main shaft, a first drive mechanism coupled to a force point at one end of the lever arm, and a second drive mechanism coupled to a supporting point at the other end of the lever arm. The first drive mechanism first causes the lever arm to pivot on the supporting point to greatly move the press plate, and the first drive mechanism is then stopped to operate the second drive mechanism, so that the lever arm pivots on the force point to press the press plate against the press plate.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2004Date of Patent: December 26, 2006Assignee: Bionics CorporationInventor: Shoji Hasegawa

Patent number: 7101164Abstract: A material handling system for a hydrolyzer comprises a material injection assembly having a ram; a sleeve in which the ram reciprocates during use; a gate plate operable from between an open position, wherein a plug of municipal solid waste may exit the sleeve, and a closed position; and a material exit assembly. The material exit assembly comprises a processed material handling apparatus including a processed material compaction chamber; and a plunger assembly attached to the compaction chamber and further including a working cylinder having a cylinder shaft and a ram operably connected to the shaft enabling the ram to compact the processed material within the compaction chamber upon actuation of the cylinder and the extension of the shaft therefrom.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2002Date of Patent: September 5, 2006Assignee: Bouldin CorporationInventor: Floyd E.
