Publication number: 20150132427Abstract: An apparatus for compacting waste objects includes a seat provided with a support assembly for supporting the waste object to be compacted; a push member being moveable inside the seat for compacting in use of the apparatus the waste object against an end wall of the seat; the support assembly including two support members that rotate away from each other for discharging the compacted object through an aperture. The support members can impede discharge of a compacted object of a specific type through the aperture to collect the compacted object of the specific type in a dedicated container. Protuberances can be applied to the push member and an end wall of the seat for producing depressions in the compacted object so that the compacted object does not lose the compacted condition once pressure applied by the push member is removed.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 22, 2014Publication date: May 14, 2015Inventor: Marco Santandrea

Patent number: 7147024Abstract: A method to produce a decay resistant and weatherproof wooden product (11) and to its qualities like hardwood, for instance teak, in compressing and heating wood block (1) into a wanted shape. In the method a dried wood block (1) is compressed at least in one direction and the compressed wood block (1 kept in compressed shape, for instance between walls (6); (7), and shifted into a heating chamber, which to its cross-section is a closed chamber of predetermined shape and free from oxygen, whereby still in the said chamber the temperature of timber block (11) is quickly raised to 210–390° C. and the timber block kept tight under controlled compression in each direction and that the timber block (11), still under compression, is quickly and controllably cooled, for instance placing it in a space between cooling walls (8).Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2003Date of Patent: December 12, 2006Inventor: Jaakko Kause

Patent number: 5979306Abstract: A heating pressure processing apparatus in which gas sealing property and safety can be ensured, and economic property can be improved in heating pressure processing of workpieces such as Si wafers sheet by sheet. A processing vessel 1 formed of vessel components 2, 3 is divided into at least two parts or more in the axial direction thereof and has a seal ring 9 provided in the divided parts of the vessel components 2, parts 3 in such a manner as to be replaceable. The vessel components 2, 3 have shaped parts forming a processing space 5 for a workpiece 4 when the divided parts are sealed through the seal ring 9, the vessel components 2, 3 also having cooling means 10 for the seal ring 9. A ram is provided 18 for pressing the vessel components 2, 3 in the axial direction of the vessel in order to ensure the sealing in the divided parts; and a gas introducing device 20 is provided for introducing a pressurized gas to the processing space 5 in order to process the workpiece.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 1998Date of Patent: November 9, 1999Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Kobe Seiko ShoInventors: Takao Fujikawa, Yutaka Narukawa, Itaru Masuoka, Takahiro Yuki, Yoshihiko Sakashita

Patent number: 5666878Abstract: A system that sterilizes and compacts medical waste. The system includes a vessel which has a door that provides access to an inner chamber. The inner chamber is coupled to a compressor and a source of heating fluid. The vessel also has a jacket that surrounds the inner chamber. The jacket is coupled to the source of heating fluid and a source of cooling fluid. The operation of the system is controlled by a controller. To sterilize and compact medical waste, the door is initially opened and the waste is placed inside the inner chamber. The door is closed to seal the vessel. A vacuum is pulled within the inner chamber to remove any moisture contained therein. Simultaneous with the creation of the vacuum is the introduction of heating fluid to the jacket to heat the vessel. Heating fluid is then introduced to the inner chamber to sterilize the waste. After the waste is sterilized, a vacuum is pulled to remove the heating fluid from the inner chamber. The waste is then compacted by a piston.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 1995Date of Patent: September 16, 1997Assignee: Dover CorporationInventor: Todd Taricco
