Abstract: A system for applying a personal message to a heat resistant cameo that is intended to be included with a deceased person during a cremation process. The system includes a holder having a middle passage constructed and arranged to receive the cameo therein with the cameo having a predetermined inscription surface upon which a personal message can be inscribed; a transfer sheet with the holder retaining the transfer sheet and being constructed and arranged to stretch the transfer sheet over the inscription surface of the cameo; and a mask that is disposed over the transfer sheet. The mask has a middle hole therein that is aligned with the middle passage of the holder.
Abstract: A pair of laminated panels are simultaneously manufactured in a single panel press. A thermal band is stacked between two panel sets and then the two panel sets are simultaneously heated and compressed together in a common stack with the band, with the band being separately heated.
Abstract: Two press cylinders are disposed at an equal interval at left and right having the opening-closing cylinder therebetween, so as to have the approximately same distance from the conveying reference plane as the opening-closing cylinder. The opening-closing cylinder comprises an opening-closing linear encoder, which detects a decreased amount of the entire thickness of the object-to-be-processed as a displacement of the ram, when the object-to-be-processed is hot-pressed. The respective press cylinders comprise pressure sensors for press cylinders detecting pressing pressures of the pressing plates as cylinder inner pressures.

Abstract: An empty container pressing apparatus is disclosed. The empty container pressing apparatus includes at least one pressure applying cylinder section in which a first cylinder chamber and a second cylinder chamber separated by a pressure receiving piston which slides in a cylinder chamber having the first cylinder chamber and the second cylinder chamber are disposed. In addition, an inlet to which a pressure applying medium supplied from the outside is input and an outlet which drains the input pressure applying medium is connected to the first cylinder chamber. Further, the empty container pressing apparatus includes at least one pressing section which is connected to the pressure applying cylinder section and provides a pressing piston that moves together with the pressure receiving piston via a pressure transmitting member and applies pressing force to a empty container, and the empty container is pressed.
Abstract: A panel press has horizontally spaced and vertically oriented window-type tension frames each in turn having an upper beam having opposite ends each formed with an upwardly directed seat, a lower beam beneath the upper beam and having opposite ends each formed with a downwardly directed seat, and respective vertical side elements extending between the ends of the upper and lower beams and each unitarily formed with a laterally projecting upper end having a downwardly directed surface bearing downward on the respective upper-beam seat and with a laterally projecting lower end having an upwardly directed surface bearing upward on the respective lower-beam seat. Vertical bolts secure the laterally projecting ends to the respective beam ends.

Abstract: A press has at least two rigid and generally planar platens normally brought together to hot-press a panel workpiece. Each platen is formed with a plurality of parallel longitudinally throughgoing bores having ends open at edges of the platen, an array of orifices opening at at least one face of the platen and communicating with the bores between the ends thereof, at least one manifold passage extending transversely in the platen adjacent at least one of the edges and intersecting the bores, and a heat-exchange passage offset from the bores and manifold passage. A heat-exchange liquid is passed through the heat-exchange passages. The ends of the bores are closed, and a treatment vapor is injected under superatmospheric pressure into or withdrawn by subatmospheric pressure from the manifold passages so as to expel the vapor from the platens via the orifices or suck vapor from the platens in through the orifices.

Abstract: A machine for manufacturing corrugated board including one or more flexible, disposable covers for the pressure-applying feet of the machine. The covers prevent wear and tear to the bottoms of the pressure-applying feet and may be easily replaced, as needed. In a belt-driven machine, the disposable covers may be located between the pressure-applying feet and the conveyor belt. In a machine with a beltless hotplate section, the conveyor belt is replaced by a pulling section located downstream from the hotplate section and the disposable covers may be located between the pressure-applying feet and the moving surface. The covers allow the thickness of the corrugated board to be varied while the board is moving through the machine without causing the leading edge of an added layer to catch on the upstream edges of the pressure-applying feet. In addition, the covers and/or the pressure applicators may be moved in the cross-machine direction to minimize waste when manufacturing different widths of corrugated board.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an adjustable hinge apparatus and spacer means for use with a low temperature grill having multiple stacked heating plates and at least one support rod extending across one side of the grill to form a common pivot axis. The hinge apparatus includes an array of adjustable floating hinges formed to be positioned adjacent one another pivotally supported on the support rod. Each hinge includes a hinge block having a slide aperture therethrough sized and shaped for receiving a support arm member extending therethrough in the vertical plane and being slidably supported therein at a selected position in order to support the plates at a selected height. The support blocks also include a pivot aperture therethrough positioned substantially normal to the support arm aperture being sized and shaped for receiving the horizontal support rod therethrough. The support arm members of adjacent hinge blocks are formed with offset bends for attachment with consecutively stacked heating plates.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for applying variable pressure to a surface. The apparatus includes a frame secured to a fixed structure and located proximate to the surface. A foot is mounted for movable relation relative to the frame in a direction substantially perpendicular to the surface. The pressure applicator is connected to a pressure device which biases the applicator away from the surface. The present invention also includes a variable pressure source connected to a control device for varying the pressure supplied to the pressure applicator that is ultimately applied to the surface.
