  • Patent number: 8276508
Abstract: An overload protector has an input element, an output element juxtaposed with the input element, and a clamping plate. Fasteners fix the clamping plate to one of the elements against relative movement. A coupling between the clamping plate and the other of the elements permits only limited relative movement of the elements through a stroke having a predetermined length in a predetermined direction. A connector between the clamping plate and the other element fixes the clamping plate and the other element together against relative movement until an overload force greater than a predetermined critical limit is exerted shifting either of the elements toward or away from the other element in the predetermined direction.

  • Patent number: 7562622
Abstract: A manually operated press comprises an actuation lever coupled to a shaft assembly. An actuation of the actuation lever is transformed into a stroke movement of a press ram. A clutch assembly is provided for interrupting a flow of force between the actuation lever and the press ram. The clutch is adapted to separate an input shaft from an output shaft depending on predetermined pressing parameters. The input shaft extends as an inner shaft through the output shaft. The clutch assembly has a first clutch designed as a stroke stop for immobilizing the input shaft with a press housing depending on the pressing parameter, and a second clutch designed as an overload clutch for interrupting a flow of force between the input shaft and the output shaft.

Abstract: A manually operated press comprises an actuation lever coupled to a shaft assembly. An actuation of the actuation lever is transformed into a stroke movement of a press ram coupled to the shaft assembly and, accordingly, into a change of a relative displacement position of the press ram. A clutch assembly is provided for interrupting a flow of force between the actuation lever and the press ram. The shaft is at least two-piece, namely configured with an input shaft and an output shaft. The clutch is adapted to separate the input shaft from the output shaft depending on the pressing force and/or the relative displacement position of the press ram. The shaft assembly comprises an input shaft and an output shaft. The input shaft extends as an inner shaft through the output shaft being configured as a hollow shaft.

  • Patent number: 7024991
Abstract: In an overload safety device in a press, having a driving device with a drive shaft, a slide carrying out an oscillating movement and a connecting rod which connects the drive shaft with the slide and has a large and a small eye, the connecting rod is provided with a pressure element disposed displaceably in the longitudinal direction of the connecting rod. The pressure element acts at least indirectly upon a fluid such that, when a certain force acts upon the connecting rod, a pressure increase occurs in the fluid. The fluid is guided to a pressure limiting valve which, when a predetermined pressure is exceeded, causes an interruption of the slide movement.

  • Patent number: 6457406
Abstract: Two hydraulic chambers (3a),(3b) within a slide (2) communicate with an overload protecting valve (12) through relief passages (11a),(11b). Check valves (13a),(13b) and discharge valves (14a),(14b) are arranged in series with each other in the respective relief passages (11a),(11b). When either of the two hydraulic chambers (3a),(3b) has a pressure not less than a set overload pressure, the overload protecting valve (12) opens to relieve pressurized oil within the hydraulic chamber (3a) to an exterior area via a restricting passage (78) of one discharge valve (14a) and the overload protecting valve (12). This switches over the two discharge valves (14a),(14b) to a discharging condition substantially at the same time to communicate the hydraulic chambers (3a),(3b) with a discharge port (R).
