Hydraulic Or Pneumatic Safety System Patents (Class 100/347)
  • Patent number: 9526257
Abstract: A food press machine that is used to shape food, such as slabs of meat. The machine has a jaw element. The jaw element is free to rotate about a pivot connection along a curved path between a closed position and an open position. A lower mold head is mounted to a base. An upper mold head is mounted to the jaw element. The upper mold head aligns atop the lower mold head and defines a compression chamber when the jaw element is in its closed position. Conversely, the upper mold head is lifted away from the lower mold head when the jaw element is in its open position. Food is placed in the compression chamber when the jaw element is in its open position. The jaw element is than moved to its closed position with the power of a hydraulic piston.

  • Patent number: 8904927
Abstract: A pneumatic can crusher for compressing a metal can has a hollow pipe. A piston assembly is located inside the pipe with a head attached to a first end of a connecting rod and a bottom air cylinder connected to a second end of a connecting rod. In some embodiments, an opening is located in the pipe near the top end, for allowing the metal can to be inserted into the inside of the pipe and placed on a top surface of the head of the piston assembly. The pneumatic can crusher has a manually activated safety interlock operated by a foot of a user. Air from the air compressor pushes the air cylinder upward toward the top end of the pipe so to crush the metal can on the top surface of the head of the piston assembly.

  • Publication number: 20130276649
Abstract: The invention relates to a press having a coverable working region in which a pressing process can be carried out by applying compressed air or fluid to the press, a protective device for covering the working region and a pipe conduit for transporting the compressed air or the fluid, wherein a first part of the pipe conduit is arranged on the protective device, a further part of the pipe conduit is arranged on the press, and the protective device is configured in such a way that by removing the protective device from the working region the first part of the pipe conduit is disconnected from the further part of the pipe conduit. The invention makes it possible that the press is not supplied energetically with compressed air or fluid for carrying out the pressing process until after the working region has been closed with the protective device.

  • Patent number: 8141482
Abstract: A hydraulic fine blanking head for a mechanical press and an infeeding method for same. The hydraulic fine blanking head includes an adjusting mechanism having an adjusting nut provided with an internal motion thread engaged with external motion threads on a main cylinder, the adjusting nut being turnable around a stroke axis, a sprocket wheel rotatable at a frontal surface of the adjusting nut, a hydraulic motor driving the sprocket wheel, and a brake for the motor shaft. Axial backlash between the respective motion threads is prohibited by a pressure generated by a flow of pressurized hydraulic fluid which also generates a part forming force in the head. A conduit in communication with a hydraulic system and the interior of the head delivers the locking pressure, locking the threads against the backlash. Removal of pressure unlocks the threads. Infeed of the main cylinder with regard to the ram is adjustable by switching the motor and the brake on and off.

  • Patent number: 8113111
Abstract: A device and method are provided for preventing a tool from breaking during fine blanking and/or forming in a press. The device includes a fine blanking head positioned above a ram that carries out a stroke movement. The fine blanking head includes, among other things, a main cylinder retaining a V-shaped projection piston, a touch piston, several V-shaped projection pins, a main plate covering the main cylinder and a touch table to which the tool can be connected. Pressure provided by a hydraulic system is introduced to the device in distinct regions. Gaps between certain device components are maintained and monitored for purposes of determining the undesirable presence of foreign objects in the press operating path. If a sensor determines that the gaps are not maintained then the computer which operates valves that supply the pressure from the hydraulic system will shut the press down.

  • Patent number: 7980173
Abstract: A hydraulic compactor system includes a portable container adapted to be transported by a truck and having a chamber for receiving a waste material to be compacted. The container has a self-contained compacting ram actuated by a hydraulic cylinder, and a remote hydraulic power supply unit is connected to the hydraulic cylinder by flexible hydraulic hoses. Each of the hoses is provided with a breakaway hydraulic coupling having two sections connected by tension releasable coupling means with the sections having spring biased valves which are open when the sections are coupled together and automatically close when the sections separate due to a predetermined tension force on the hoses. Each breakaway coupling compensates for increases in hydraulic fluid pressure to prevent separation of the coupling sections when the fluid pressure increases to actuate the hydraulic compacting cylinder.
