Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and a method for cooking food on a grill having opposed upper and lower platens wherein a gap spacing between the platens is adjusted in an initial stage and in subsequent stages of the cooking time for the meat. The method includes causing the food to be located between two opposed platens, the opposed platens each having opposed cooking surfaces and the opposed cooking surfaces defining a gap spacing that is adjustable, and adjusting the gap spacing between the platens so that during an initial stage of the cooking the gap spacing is equal to or less than the nominal initial uncooked thickness of the food, and during one or more subsequent stages of the cooking, after the initial stage, the gap spacing between the platens is varied.

Abstract: A system and method for tagging individual bales of hay as they are baled and recording information regarding the moisture, weight, preservative applied. Field position, quality and other information available at the time of baling;, all sequenced to the formation of the bale by a timing and positioning device.
Abstract: A fold-down travel tray includes a tray with a pivotal axis slidably journaled in a slot on a bracket on the upper end of a support post, to permit the tray to be moved between a horizontal working position and a vertical storage position. The pivot axis and associated slot are positioned such that the tray is released from the working position by sliding the pivot axis from one end of the slot to the other. The post is slidably journaled through a sleeve on a mounting plate, to permit vertical adjustment of the height of the tray.
Abstract: A method of producing high-density bales from harvest products in a bale press with a variable volume compression chamber which is circumferentially limited by belts, a chain conveyor rolls and which yields to a force imparted by preloaded means, with the method including controlling a pressing power applied to a harvest product by the belts, the chain conveyor and the rolls dependent on a driving torque of the bale press, and automatically increasing the pressing power during formation of a bale upon an interruption of product delivery or a relative reduction in the product delivery into the compression chamber of the bale press; and a bale press for effecting the method.
Abstract: A continuous extrusion type reciprocating baling apparatus includes an end pad insertion mechanism which permits end pads to be automatically inserted into the baling chamber at each end of the bale. The end pad insertion mechanism works in conjunction with a bale tying apparatus so that end pads can be provided on each end of automatically tied bales. The end pad insertion mechanism is located above the baling chamber so that end pads are inserted downwardly into the baling chamber, to permit the typing apparatus to be provided on each side of the baler. The end pad insertion mechanism includes an enclosure for containing a supply of end pads and a plate to push the end pads downwardly through a slot provided in the baling chamber.

Abstract: A method of and a device for packaging blocks of foamed synthetic material in which a pair of parallel plates are mounted on a frame and are movable toward and away from each other for compressing blocks of resilient material therebetween. The machine may include blocking members for holding the articles in compressed condition and is adapted for receiving a package in which the articles can be compressed and which is provided with a releasable closure element at one end.
