  • Patent number: 9108460
Abstract: A novel display surface framing and support apparatus capable of temporarily or permanently securing canvas art and other substrates in a taunt manner without damaging the display surface. Upon assembly, the structural members join in a self-squaring fashion creating a square or rectangular frame. In preferred embodiments, the framing and support apparatus generally comprises four frame members which are substantially three sided in profile, and four corner joiners that are inserted into the ends of each frame member and being secured with a plurality of fastening means. The periphery of the display surface wraps over and around the frame members and is secured into a securement groove that is continuous along each frame member. In some embodiments, a spline element may be used to press the display surface into the securement groove of each frame member to thereby fix the display surface to the apparatus in a taunt fashion.

  • Patent number: 9044930
Abstract: A stencil assembly structure is used for printing solder paste on a printed circuit board. The stencil assembly structure includes a stencil and a fixing frame. The stencil includes plural first apertures and plural second aperture. The plural first apertures are collaboratively defined as a solder paste printing region. The fixing frame includes a frame body and plural guide pins. After the plural guide pins of the frame body are penetrated through the corresponding second apertures of the stencil, the stencil is fixed on the frame body. The guide pins have respective perforations, and a wire is penetrated through the perforations. By selectively loosening or tightening the wire, a tension of the stencil is adjustable.

  • Patent number: 8997648
Abstract: A system for attaching mesh to a frame and applying tension to the mesh is described. The system includes a locking strip slot in a movable frame member that permits mesh and an attached locking strip to be inserted into the slot from the top. The locking strip may be asymmetric. The system further includes a rigid frame that can hold the movable frame member under tension. The system also includes gripping the movable frame member at the locking strip slot to apply tension to the mesh. A simple hand tool may be used for engaging the locking strip slot and leveraging against the rigid portion of the frame to apply the tension. A simple hand tool may be used for separating the movable frame member from the rigid frame to remove the mesh.

Abstract: A method is provided for producing a stencil having a relief with multiple openings on its upper side. The contours correspond to a desired pattern and to a stencil of this type. The stencil has a body with at least one non-perforated non-metal relief layer, which allows greater relief heights and increased freedom of design. The relief layer is removed according to the pattern by laser or plasma radiation to form the multiple openings. Through-openings extending to a rear side opposite the upper side are provided at least in the bottom region of the openings of the relief. A stencil with a stencil body may be obtained, having at least one non-metal relief layer, formed in the upper side of which is a relief with multiple openings, the contours of which correspond to a desired pattern. Through-openings extending to a rear side opposite from the upper side are provided.

  • Patent number: 8869694
Abstract: A screen-printing panel comprising a locking strip sewn to screen-printing mesh is described. The mesh along an edge of the panel is folded around the locking strip and secured using a line of stitching. A gap between the end of the locking strip and the edge of the mesh contributes to corner softening. Another gap between the end of the stitching and the end of the locking strip also contributes to corner softening. Locking strips have various cross sections including rectangular, triangular, and complex curves. Two colors of thread may be used to aid in orienting the panel. An adhesive may be used to hold the mesh to the locking strip for convenience during handling and sewing.

Abstract: A balanced stencil foil tensioning frame with a foil alignment fixture removes the need for the complex air/bladder arrangement of conventional systems by pivoting side members to engage foil. With less components, the tensioning frame system is reliable and light weight with few moving parts. In one embodiment, a base member can receive a stencil foil and a frame top can lock into the base member, depressing the edges of the stencil foil. The amount of provided depression can adjust the tension of the foil. In another embodiment, a plurality of tension segments can move in a linear direction to create a uniform foil tension. The alignment fixture can be wall mounted to hold foil in a vertical position. This allows for consistent alignment and attachment of foil to the tensioning frame.

  • Patent number: 8752312
Abstract: A stretching system to stretch a canvas or material on a frame without the use of stretching pliers and staples. Special purpose corner clamps are used to secure the stretcher bars into an initial open miter frame to orient the double sided adhesive strip on the side of the stretchers towards the canvas or material while maintaining the adhesive strip from touching the canvas or material. After alignment, the stretching bars are pressed down and attached onto the canvas or material and the corners are released. The corner clamps are removed and canvas or material corners are cut and folded into the open miter ends which also have adhesive strips. By rotating the stretchers axially 90 degrees into the final frame, thus closing the miters, and upon inserting U-shaped fasteners into the grooves placed on the back of the stretcher, the canvas or material is stretched and ready to display.
