Feeding Or Delivering Patents (Class 101/228)
  • Patent number: 3949864
Abstract: A fabric printing machine having a conveyor belt for supporting a fabric to be printed. A drive unit is connected to the belt, and a control mechanism coacts with the belt and the drive unit for permitting intermittent unidirectional advancing movement of the belt through a selected distance. The drive unit includes a first drive for advancing the belt at a fast speed and a second drive for advancing the belt at a slowspeed. The control mechanism includes a belt engaging device adapted for gripping engagement with the belt for causing synchronous movement of the belt and engaging device during the advancing movement. The control mechanism also includes means for activating the belt engaging device and for causing the first and second drives to be sequentially connected to the belt for moving the belt at fast speed through a first preselected distance and thereafter moving the belt at slow speed through a second preselected distance.

  • Patent number: 3945317
Abstract: Automatic registration of the web of sheet material on a printing cylinder is effected in a silk screen printing apparatus which includes a printing frame reciprocably movable in an impressing and return cycle. A printing cylinder is arranged for carrying a web of sheet material in impression receiving relation to said printing frame during the impression-forming portion of its movement. Web guide rollers are arranged to direct the web to and from said printing cylinder. A first drive arrangement, including a first motor, is connected both to drive the printing frame reciprocably and said printing cylinder unidirectionally in the impression-receiving direction. The printing cylinder is disengaged from the first drive during the reverse travel of the printing frame so that the web is stationary. A second drive arrangement is provided, including a second motor, connected to drive the printing cylinder in a second direction, that is the reverse of the printing direction.

  • Patent number: 3938437
Abstract: The unwind controller drum for metering web material into a web processing machine is positively driven by a positive, fixed-ratio drive train. Several drive ratios are selectively available, each differing only slightly from another to provide minute changes in the drive ratio from the drive to the unwind drum. The changes in drive speed are generally less than .05% to provide positively determined, finite adjustment of the rate that the web material is metered into the web processing equipment.

  • Patent number: 3930446
Abstract: A duplicating method and apparatus in which information is transferred onto a copy web from a master web and a repeat printing roll and in which a common impression cylinder carries the copy web past a pressure roll which cooperates with the impression cylinder for bringing the master web in printing contact with the copy web to print equally spaced indicia from the master web on the copy web and the repeat printing roll cooperates with the impression cylinder for printing repeat indicia on the copy web, and including a sheeter for separating the copy web at spaced lengths, each length including an impression from the master web and an impression from the repeat printing roll.
