  • Patent number: 6009807
Abstract: A printing apparatus for printing a printing-paper is provided with two plate cylinders each holding a plate, two blanket cylinders coming into contact with the plate cylinders respectively and a single impression cylinder coming into contact with these blanket cylinders. Each plate has two printing areas. The two plate cylinders and the two blanket cylinders have the same diameter, which is twice that of the impression cylinder. The impression cylinder is in contact with a feed cylinder and a removal cylinder, and a reverse cylinder is provided to be in contact with the feed cylinder and the removal cylinder. The printing apparatus performs printing corresponding to one of the printing areas of each plate on a single surface of the printing-paper, reverses the printing-paper, and performs printing corresponding to the remaining printing area of each plate on another surface of the printing-paper.

  • Patent number: 5836706
Abstract: During first side printing, a media sheet is fed along a feed roller over a refeed guide toward a metering roller and into a print zone. As the trailing edge approaches a metering pinch line, the metering roller stops. After a drying time, the rollers reverse direction. The refeed guide directs the media sheet around the metering roller onto an inner guide having a reversible roller. When the trailing edge of the media sheet clears the refeed guide, the reversible roller is moved into contact with the metering roller causing such roller to reverse direction. The media sheet now moves back along the inner guide onto the feed roller. When the media sheet trailing edge is detected at the feed roller, the feed roller and metering roller change direction back to the original direction. The media sheet now is fed through the print zone for second side printing.

  • Patent number: 5802920
Abstract: A double gear wheel of a turning device on printing presses comprises an adjustment gear wheel (4). On the adjustment gear wheel a conical seat (7) is formed, which conical seat (7) is engaged in a conical recess (9) formed on the corresponding stationary gear wheel (2), when the two gear wheels (2, 4) are clamped to one another by means of a clamping body (5). The double gear wheel described above has a compact construction, is easy to manufacture with a high degree of precision, and without the requirement for any additional elements essentially guarantees a frictional engagement which reliably prevents the mutual rotation of the two gear wheels (2, 4) during operation of the printing press, even on printing presses which consist of a large number of printing mechanisms.
