Abstract: In a sheet bundle printing system, a sheet is fed by peeling an uppermost sheet from a sheet bundle. A printing device has a printing head and a platen roller for printing on the sheet. An ink ribbon is fed through space between the printing head and the platen roller in parallel with the sheet at the time of printing thereon. The platen roller is moved back and forth relative to the printing head between a printing position in which the platen roller is urged into contact with the printing head and a contact-free position in which the platen roller is out of contact with the printing head. Ink-ribbon feeding is suspended in a manner interlocked with the relative movement of the printing head and the platen roller between the printing position and the contact-free position.
Abstract: A precision hand-held label imprinter and dispenser includes a compact case or frame with a projecting handle and an applicator roller located remote therefrom, together with a dialable imprinter and platen assembly arranged so that a trigger lever associated with the handle may be manually acutated in one direction to imprint label stock (tape) by driving the platen across an imprinter in an engaged condition to force the printing medium and label stock thereagainst and operates in the opposite direction to separate the imprinter and platen and to simultaneously advance the printing medium and to advance the printed label stock to the applicator roller. Through a series of connected drive elements with the trigger lever, the device times the several functions so that accurate reproductions with high resolution of the dialed imprint information on each label is assured.
