Abstract: Provided are reinforced composite stamps, devices and methods of making the reinforced composite stamps disclosed herein. Reinforced composite stamps of certain aspects of the present invention have a composition and architecture optimized for use in printing systems for dry transfer printing of semiconductor structures, and impart excellent control over relative spatial placement accuracy of the semiconductor structures being transferred. In some embodiments, for example, reinforced composite stamps of the present invention allow for precise and repeatable vertical motion of the patterned surface of the printing apparatus with self-leveling of the stamp to the surface of a contacted substrate. Reinforced composite stamps of certain aspect of the present invention achieve a uniform distribution of contact forces between the printing apparatus patterned surface and the top surface of a substrate being contacted by the reinforced composite stamp of the printing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6968781
Abstract: An ink cartridge or inkpad for use in a hand stamp in which the cartridge is made up of two parts. There is a frame portion and a central removed portion or well. Ink is deposited into the well and absorbed by the foam stamping member and the frame portion. In a first embodiment the central removed portion is reinserted back into the cartridge to provide additional ink storage medium and to impart structural strength to the stamping member. A trim ring supports the stamping member and locks the stamping member and ink cartridge into the stamp mount. This minimizes the mess associates with inking inkpads and also minimizes ink loss due to evaporation and drying. It also reduces the inventory of ink cartridges required by a stamp manufacturer as the cartridges are stored dry and the desired color ink is only placed in the ink cartridge when the stamp is manufactured for the user.

  • Patent number: 6948257
Abstract: A marking device is disclosed to enable the placement of an indicator mark on one side of a sheet of material to mark the approximate periphery of a stationary object. The device consists of a base containing multiple marking members with a marking surface raised above the base surface. A contact plate, portions of which extend above the base surface, is connected to the base through the use of a pair of opposing connectors. The contact plate extends from the base a distance sufficient to prevent the sheet material from contacting the marking members without the application of sufficient pressure to compress the contact plate.

  • Patent number: 6945172
Abstract: A housing assembly for a self-inking stamp includes a movable case, two pressing keepers and a protective film. The movable case has two opposite sides and two keeper mounting holes respectively defined through the sides of the movable case and aligned with each other. The pressing keepers are respectively and retractably mounted in the keeper mounting holes. The protective film is attached to the movable case and has two covering areas respectively aligned with and covering the pressing keepers. Consequently, the pressing keepers are completely enclosed and covered by the protective film, which will prevent gaps around the pressing keepers from being caulked or clogged with the contaminants as dust, skin oil or ink. In addition, the protective film will provide an improved touching feeling when a person holds the self-inking stamp.

  • Patent number: 6925933
Abstract: A portable stamp includes a housing with an elongated slot and a tongue. A handle is movably mounted in the housing. A character unit is pivotally mounted at a distal end of the handle with a first torsion spring. An ink pad is pivotally mounted beneath the character unit with a second torsion spring and abuts a character plate of the character unit. A control unit is movably mounted in the elongated slot and stably mounted in the handle. A cover is detachably mounted at an open end of the housing. When the control unit is pushed towards the open end of the housing, the character unit and ink pad will be respectively pivoted under the forces of the torsion springs to positions perpendicular to the handle for stamping the character plate. Whereby, the stamp is easy to be operated and will not dirty the user's hands.

  • Patent number: 6892637
Abstract: A stamp pad holder for use in a self-inking hand stamp. The stamp pad holder has a stamp die box that holds a stamp forming material, ink cartridge and plastic within the die box. The stamp forming material is placed at the bottom of the die box. A pre-inked ink cartridge is placed above the stamp forming material but separated by an impermeable film. The film prohibits ink from flowing from the ink cartridge to the stamp forming material until the film is pulled from the die box prior to use. This permits the ink from the ink cartridge to impregnate the stamp forming material. The die box is then inserted into the hand stamp. A method of manufacturing the die box is also disclosed.
