Abstract: A pressing device includes a pressure lever that is platy and has a thickness t. The pressure lever pivots. A cam presses the pressure lever. A cam follower is mounted on the pressure lever and disposed opposite the cam. The cam follower transmits pressure from the cam to the pressure lever. The cam follower has a contact face that contacts the cam and a side face that is perpendicular to the contact face. The contact face has a length W in a thickness direction of the pressure lever and a length L1 in an orthogonal direction perpendicular to the thickness direction of the pressure lever. The length L1 is defined from a contact position where the cam follower contacts the cam to the side face of the cam follower. The thickness t, the length W, and the length L1 satisfy a relation defined by L1?0.6×(W?t)/2+0.2.
