Bed And Platen Patents (Class 101/57)
  • Patent number: 8708022
Abstract: A label peeling unit having an installation body: a movable body movable while engaging with the installation body and stopping in a closed state or an open state in which the movable body is closed or open relative to the installation body; a label peeling body installed on the movable body and allowing backing paper of a continuous label body, which is conveyed by the paper sheet conveyance device, to be in contact with the label peeling body to bend the backing paper for peeling a part of a label off the backing paper; and a backing paper conveyance roller rotatably installed on the movable body and rotating while being in contact with a platen roller of the paper sheet conveyance device with the backing paper in between to thereby convey the backing paper and discharge it to the outside. The label peeling unit facilitates loading of paper sheets.

  • Publication number: 20020085871
Abstract: The present invention describes a double belt transport system for moving a mailpiece into a printing area of a digital printer. The transport system includes an upper belt and a lower belt. The upper belt has a straight section to form a nip with the lower belt to ingest the mailpiece. The straight section also defines a registration plane to register the upper surface of the mailpiece with respect to the print head of the printer. In order to make sure the registration is consistent regardless of the thickness of the mailpiece, an up-lifting mechanism is used to push the bottom of the mailpiece in an upward direction against a shield plate, which is positioned substantially on the registration plane. A velocity measurement device, such as an optical encoder, is used to measure the moving speed of the belts so that the printing speed of the digital printer matches the moving speed of the mailpiece in the print area.

  • Patent number: 5584243
Abstract: The conversion kit includes a pair of side frame mounting plates, one for each side frame of an older printing unit, wherein the mounting plates are mounted on the inwardly facing surfaces of their respective side frames after a cylinder, an ink fountain, and a doctor blade assembly of the printing unit are removed therefrom. The kit also includes a new ink fountain having an ink well positioned beneath the cylinder, and a sock roll for smoothing out ink on the cylinder and for impregnating engraved cells formed therein with ink. The ink fountain is mounted on and supported by the mounting plates. Also provided is an adjustable doctor blade assembly which is mounted on the mounting plates, the assembly having a doctor blade, and an actuating device for moving the doctor blade towards and away from the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4759288
Abstract: A printer, which is especially adapted for printing a bar code on label paper has a housing having a front panel with some operation buttons and a winding drawer having a protruding label table. The printer prints a bar code and alphanumeric numerals on a label which is fed to the label table for then being applied to goods. The printer also can be connected to an external computer or the like for obtaining the information to be printed on the label. The printer also has an internal processor and a memory for maintaining certain necessary information. The winding drawer has a winding roller and a deflection roller on a pivotable operation lever. The deflection roller deflects ground paper of the label paper over a dispenser edge in a first position of the operation lever, so that a label formerly on the ground paper is delivered straight ahead while the ground paper is deflected downwards to the winding roller operation.
