Adjustable Patents (Class 101/87)
  • Patent number: 8850974
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and to a method for providing and adjusting a numbering machine with which value papers or sheets of value papers are printed with an individual piece of information, particularly a serial number. The numbering machine comprises carrier discs and numbering units on said carrier discs, wherein a plurality of numbering units are fixed on a carrier disc and a plurality of said carrier discs are fixed on a shaft, and the shaft is driven by at least one drive element with at least one rotary encoder. According to the invention, a position device provides the target position of the carrier discs and the associated numbering units on the associated carrier discs. Such a position device is preferably a light generating device with a light beam, a mechanical stop collar, or a camera with a monitor with a reticle.

  • Patent number: 8225714
Abstract: There is described a numbering system for carrying out numbering in a printing press comprising a numbering cylinder, a rotatable shaft defining a rotation axis, at least one supporting disc mounted on the rotatable shaft for rotation therewith, the supporting disc comprising a peripheral mounting ring for mounting of at least one numbering device (1.06; 2.06) on a periphery of the supporting disc, which numbering device (1.06; 2.06) is secured to the peripheral mounting ring (1.43) by means of a clamping mechanism. The peripheral mounting ring (1.43) has a T-shaped cross-section defining a pair of annular mounting grooves (1.43a, 1.43b) on each side of the peripheral mounting ring (1.43). The numbering device (1.06; 2.06) comprises clamping elements (1.50; 2.50) on each side of the numbering device (1.06; 2.06) which are adapted to cooperate with the annular mounting grooves (1.43a, 1.43b) for securing the numbering device (1.06; 2.06) onto the peripheral mounting ring (1.43). The clamping elements (1.50; 2.

  • Patent number: 7978349
Abstract: A web platform has multiple print modules adapted to print form data and variable data in a continuous operation. A controller with access to a form image database and a variable document database is connected to the web platform. Each print module on the web platform uses single color, ink jet, print heads. Form data is printed by a plurality of single color print modules. Variable data is printed by a single color print module. Bulk paper in rolls is fed through the web platform to print the forms and customer statements. The controller can direct printing of multiple statements simultaneously in discrete lanes on the web platform. Printed customer statements are subsequently separated into individual finished documents for process and mailing.

  • Patent number: 7913618
Abstract: A punch press tool for stamping successive multicharacter impressions into a workpiece such as a piece of steel, sheet metal, or other workpiece, includes a guide body in which a stamp driver is slidably mounted for being driven downwardly toward the workpiece by a punch press ram which is a standard part of a high speed commercial punch press. A multicharacter marking stamp is supported at the lower end of the stamp driver for reciprocal movement therewith. The marking stamp includes multicharacter wheels that are rotated automatically during operation for advancing characters in sequence responsive to the movement of a character advancing arm. At least one character stamp operating lever is operatively associated with the punch press tool for articulation responsive to motion imparted to the tool by the ram.

  • Patent number: 5020428
Abstract: A stamp printing machine has print drum carrying print wheels which are settable by push buttons to print a selected value of postage charge. The drum is driven by a mechanical device such as tensator spring motor. The motor is manually primed and a trip lever operated by insertion of mail item releases the print drum to rotate through one revolution to print the stamp on the mail item. The stamp machine may include a calculator on which the postage value may be manually entered. Electrical contacts operated by the rotation of the drum are connected across the M+ button of the calculator to add the postage amount to its memory.

  • Patent number: 4248145
Abstract: The apparatus is positioned at the exit end of a high speed printing machine having a cylindrical printing plate on a driven shaft. A framework of the apparatus is mounted to the exit end. A first shaft is journalled to the framework and indicia marking means are provided axially adjustable on and rotatable with the first shaft for marking selected indicia on material. Indicia changing means are provided for changing the indicia and actuating means selectively actuate the indicia changing means to change indicia after a number of revolutions of the first shaft. A second shaft is rotatably journalled to the framework parallel to the first shaft. A third shaft is pivotally mounted to the second shaft. A drive drivingly couples the second shaft to the third shaft. Pneumatic means are provided for moving an impression roller on the third shaft between a lower position and a raised position where the periphery of the impression roller has a tangent with the circular path of the indicia marking means.
