Compression Ignition Patents (Class 102/702)
  • Patent number: 10443992
Abstract: The disclosed technology regards a reusable, non-pyrotechnic diversionary device having a housing assembly which receives and supports a pressure manifold, activation assembly, and a lighting assembly. The housing assembly includes a vessel, a main chassis, and a transparent lens. Positioned within the main chassis is a pressure manifold which supports a compressed gas source. A puncture pin is provided in the activation assembly, and aligned with the compressed gas source to facilitate puncture of the source. The disclosed technology further regards a reusable, non-pyrotechnic diversionary assembly having a housing assembly and a reloading tool. The reloading tool has an externally threaded inner body with an aperture at its distal end sized to receive the puncture pin, and an outer body sized and internally threaded to rotatably receive a portion of the inner body in its shaft, allowing the inner body to traverse through and from the shaft at its distal end.

  • Patent number: 10322355
Abstract: A portable toy gun capable of being quickly assembled and dismantled, including a first gun barrel and a second gun barrel, a gun stock mounted at one end of the first gun barrel, a trigger component connected to one side of the first gun barrel, and a handle and a magazine mounted at two opposite ends of the trigger component respectively. The first gun barrel includes an outer sleeve, a first bore, and a locking mechanism mounted on the outer side of one end of the outer sleeve. A plug is mounted at one end of the first bore, and a guiding locating protrusion is disposed on one side of the plug. The second gun barrel includes a second outer sleeve and a second bore. One end of the second outer sleeve defines a locking hole corresponding to the locking mechanism and a slot corresponding to the plug.

  • Patent number: 6516725
Abstract: A cartridge assembly 10 includes a shell 12 containing a propellant charge 19. At a rear, open end, the shell 12 holds a force amplifying initiating device 20, in turn holding a rim fire primer 22 in operative association with the propellant 19. A firing pin body 40 is movably held within the device 40 to expose a rear of the body 40 to a shock wave to initiate the device 20. A fore end of the body 40 includes a taper formation 48 having a rounded fore point 50 aligned with an inactive surface of the primer 22 centrally within a firing rim. Inadvertent (mechanical) actuation of the firing pin 40 will fall to cause sufficient and sufficiently fast impingement on the primer to initiate the primer. Only a shock wave can cause initiation. The primer 22 is held in a collar 34 allowing it to flare open upon initiation and holding it within the shell 12 after initiation.

  • Patent number: 5945629
Abstract: A fuse-less ballistic explosive projectile (1) with a great fragmentation effect has a secondary explosive (50) with a special structure (75), the secondary explosive detonating upon impact. The secondary explosive (50) surrounds within a projectile cap (24) a conical projection (30) of a penetration core (18). Transmission of the firing effect from the secondary explosive (50) is effected through a central through bore (40) of the penetration core (18) to a large-volume bursting charge (60) arranged in a projectile body (10).

  • Patent number: 5942715
Abstract: The invention provides a weapon simulator which comprises a combustion chamber having an exhaust port, a mechanism for admitting fuel gas to the combustion chamber, an ignition system for igniting fuel gas in the combustion chamber to cause an explosion, and an outlet valve to close the exhaust port. The outlet valve is arranged to open rapidly and with audible results in response to an explosive pressure rise within the combustion chamber. Further, the outlet valve comprises a collapsible diaphragm and a breechblock having opposing clamping parts releasable secured together and which releasably grip the collapsible diaphragm such that the gripped portion of the diaphragm is released on its collapse due to the explosive pressure rise in the combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 5216200
Abstract: A device for igniting a propellant charge is provided with a housing defining a cavity wherein a piston is displaceably guided. The cavity is connected via a bore acting as a nozzle to a chamber wherein a case member of a cartridge is arranged for accommodating the propellant charge. A bottom wall of the case member is equipped with a bore aligned with the bore acting as a nozzle. A primer wafer is disposed on the inner surface of the bottom wall, this wafer being thinner in its central zone than in its marginal zone. The central zone of the primer wafer is a region under mechanical thermal stress during compression, the ignition energy being introduced to the primer wafer via this region in the form of hot compressed air from the compression chamber.

  • Patent number: 5121691
Abstract: The invention relates to a projectile comprising a shell body containing an explosive charge and a ballistic nose cone in which a trigger system is disposed. The ballistic nose cone is organized as two distinct parts which are connected together in axial alignment, comprising a bottom portion that is essentially rigid and a top portion that is essentially deformable on impact on a target. Each of the portions is charged with a compressed incendiary composition, and together they form a closed functional cavity whose shape is maintained on firing and during the trajectory of the projectile. The bottom portion also receives a layer of mechanically strong pyrophoric material, said material being set off by the charge in the ballistic nose cone which is itself set off on impact by the sudden increase in the pressure of the air contained in the closed functional cavity.
