Abstract: The invention relates to a guide channel with long, parallel side elements, between which an energy transmission chain can be laid in the longitudinal direction, where the guide channel is composed of several side elements arranged with their face ends next to one another in the longitudinal direction of the channel. In order to create a guide channel which is of low weight, has a visual appearance and shape which permits versatile use, emits little noise and at the same time possesses great stability, it is proposed in accordance with the invention that side elements (1) display dimensionally stable hollow sections and connecting elements (2) be provided between the opposite face ends of side elements (1), by means of which the side elements can be fastened to each other and to a substructure. Abstract: A system is provided that uses small carrier vehicles that operate along electrified guideways and use standardized connections to automatically carry passenger cabins, freight loads and automobile platforms to desired destinations. Front and rear bogies of the vehicles pivot about front and rear vertical turn axes and carry direction control wheels that cooperate with guide ribs along tracks for selective control of movement to either of two exits from a Y junction. Electric power which can be three phase AC power can be supplied through upper and lower track structures. The upper track structures can define the guide ribs.

Abstract: A cover for a channel, such as the channel which runs along the top of a section of conveyor track, is disclosed for excluding foreign matter from the interior of the track while allowing a pedestal extending from the interior of the track to traverse the channel. The cover is formed from two cover halves extending inwardly over the channel from supports running alongside of the channel, and the cover halves include resilient outer portions and hard yet flexible inner portions. The inner portions contact the passing pedestal and flex out of the way as the pedestal passes between them. The outer portions provide an inward biasing force against the inner portions for holding them against the passing pedestal and returning them to a closed position after a pedestal has passed.

The rotor is movably mounted within the stator and the vehicle is positioned above the track. The rotor is connected to the vehicle by a riser extending through longitudinal slots of the track and stator, and by an actuator mechanism, which includes a transversely curved saddle movably connected to drive members, for enabling the vehicle to be banked at curve sections of the tubular track. Further, vehicle banking is also accomplished by constructing the track and stator with the slots laterally offset at the curved sections of the track.

  • Patent number: 5303655
Abstract: An automatic stabilizing unit for a free trolley and a load carriage in an inverted power and free conveyor system is connected to the free trolley. The stabilizing unit includes a stabilizer actuator which extends above a free track containing the free trolley from beneath the floor of a building which houses the conveyor, and a stabilizing gear mounted on the load carriage. At locations in an assembly plant, such as robotic welders or riveting stations where load shifting tolerances are critical, there must be additional stabilization of the load carriage. At these locations, stabilizing rails are positioned on top of the free track in line with stabilizing trucks on the stabilizing actuator. When the stabilizing trucks contact the rails, the trucks are urged upward, pushing an attached piston upward against a spring which causes a pair of stabilizing wheels on the stabilizing gear to rotate downward into contact with the factory floor, thus stabilizing the carriage only when needed.
