    Abstract: A swivel deck loading and off loading system for flatcars. The system is mounted onto a flatbed railcar and works in conjunction with the railroad loading/off loading area for the safe and efficient loading/off loading of transported equipment, such as trailers, from either side of the rail car. The system uses a structured ramp platform, which is affixed to the top flange of a slew ring bearing. The slew ring bearing lower flange is affixed to a mounting plate. This mounting plate is affixed to the bed of the rail car. The ramp platform swivels freely and is supported on a polyethylene sheet, which is affixed to the bed of the rail car. This arrangement operates such that it allows the platform to freely rotate without binding when under load. A forklift is used to lift the front of trailers so that the trailers can be loaded/unloaded from the flatcar.

The modified “H” beam framework creates a low profile turntable with built-in loading and exiting ramp. Heavy duty casters riding on a large plate steel base, provide a smooth, stabile surface for the revolving casters. Proximity switches are used to create a synchronized system, which operate the hydraulic cylinders used for stability. They can also trigger a digital camera every few degrees of rotation, creating a 360 degree virtual reality image. The custom designed trailer carries the turntable on its underside with the use of an inverted four inch drop axle to gain ground clearance. Winches are used to lift the turntable from the ground. Inverted towers with casters at the four corners of the trailer offer protection to the turntable from irregular surfaces or curbs.

A battery box replacement device takes down a spent battery box from the electric bus; the battery box replacement device rotates towards one side around a Y axis, and raises or lowers the spent battery box so as to put the spent battery on the battery box storage rack; then the battery box replacement device takes down a charged battery box from the battery box storage rack, rotates to the original position, and installs the battery box in the electric bus.

    Abstract: A motorcycle turntable includes an elongated ramp assembly pivotally supported for slidable rotation about an approximate mid-point. The elongated ramp assembly includes an outer low friction skid plate attached to its reverse side generally adjacent each of its opposed outer ends. The weight of a conventional motorcycle is sufficient to cause the elongated ramp assembly to flex so that its ends bend downwardly towards the floor. As the elongated ramp assembly with its drooping ends is rotated about its midpoint on a pedestal-bearing assembly, the low friction skid plates skid across the floor. Most of the weight is born by the pedestal-bearing assembly, which includes at least one low friction plate. The thickness of the skid plates and the flexibility of the structure are such as to allow the ends to droop into light contact with the floor. This permits slidable rotation to be accomplished.

When the platforms are aligned with the opening of a garage, they are in a maximum spaced-apart relationship. However, when the carriage rotates, the platforms move towards each other, motivated by the action of the cam followers on the rail cam, thereby decreasing inter-vehicle distance and the lateral space required for the rotation of the vehicles. The platforms return to their original spacing as the carriage completes 180 degrees of rotation.

    Abstract: An oscillating, modular turntable for displaying objects includes a base formed from a ring-like lower track having a generally circular upwardly facing lower track surface formed thereon, a hub assembly and a plurality of spokes extending between the lower track and the hub assembly and releasably attached thereto by a plurality of toggle clamps. The turntable also includes a lower table having a plurality of support wheels resting on the lower track surface and a generally circular upwardly facing upper track surface formed thereon extending in a plane tilted at a predetermined angle relative to a plane in which the base extends and an upper table having a plurality of support wheels resting on the upper track surface. Both tables include a center section having a pair of generally straight sides and a pair of generally semicircular end sections releasably attached to a corresponding one of the straight sides by toggle clamps.

    Abstract: A rotatable vehicle turn-table device for use in connection with a multi-story parking garage includes a turn-table, a circular frame and four sets of wheel fixing rollers therein which are spatially positioned to receive the wheels of a car. On opposite sides of the rollers and parallel therewith are four guard plates (inward of the rollers) and four movable side plates (outward of the rollers). Contact sensors are on the guard plates and are electrically connected to a power source. The power source can move the rollers and side plates to adjust the position of the wheels of a car on the turn-table. The wheels of the car can be moved quickly and firmly against the plates. The turn-table can be easily used by even novice drivers and can quickly and safely hold and move cars.

    Abstract: A self-propelled rail transport vehicle for carrying a hydraulic crawler crane is provided. The transport vehicle is designed to normally travel along the rails of a track and allow crane operation either from the transport or from a ground off-loaded position. The crane may be delivered and loaded on and off the transport at any convenient ground rail location, and when taken off the transport, may be used to lift the transport from the tracks, so as to allow trains to pass unobstructed. The crane may then be used to lift the transport back on the track after which the crane may be loaded onto the transport. Once the job at a site is complete, the carrier and crane may be returned to its original location by rail or by truck. A latching mechanism is located in the center of the carrier deck of the transport. The latching mechanism is adapted to engage with a retractable pin mounted to the underside of the car body of the crane.

The turntable is pivotally mounted on a rotatable shaft, and a small gear driven motor is utilized to rotate the turntable. Inasmuch as the front of an automobile is heavier than the rear end, when the vehicle is parked forwardly on the turntable, a weight sensitive switch activates the motor to effect a rotation of the turntable. When the vehicle has rotated 180 degrees, the opposite tilting of the table deactivates the weight sensitive switch so as to disable the motor drive.
