Abstract: The disclosure relates to a generator system for rail vehicles, for example, a system including a generator with a rotor and a stator, and a journal box unit. The journal box unit may include a bearing for mounting an axle, and a bearing housing. An end cap is arranged on the front face of the axle. The end cap is connected to the axle for co-joint rotation therewith, and the stator is connected to the bearing housing. A friction wheel is arranged on the outer circumferential surface of the end cap, the friction wheel being designed as the rotor of the generator.

Abstract: A system for recycling energy within an assembly line includes a mobile power generator attached to a conveyer platform (a.k.a. a “skillet”) or other conveyance within the assembly line. The mobile power generator has a drive wheel that contacts an adjacent surface, such as a floor, and is rotated by movement of the conveyance along or past the surface. Rotation of the drive wheel is transmitted to a low RPM electrical generator to produce electrical energy at the conveyance.

Abstract: Methods and systems are presented for powering a generator via a flexible driveshaft coupled to a vehicle power take off unit. In one example, a flexible driveshaft with a non-rotatable outer sheath and inner, rotatable mandrel may be coupled to a generator complementary connector to power the generator with torque from a power take off unit.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a traveling trolley, in particular a single-rail trolley having a compact height. A traveling trolley constructed in accordance with the present invention includes a supporting frame with running wheels that run on the bottom flange of a rail, a hoist arranged at the supporting frame, a lever member arranged at the axle of the driven running wheel so as to swivel or pivot, and a friction wheel supported at the free end of the lever member via an additional axle. The friction wheel and the driven running wheel are each coupled to a respective toothed wheel and these toothed wheels are driven by a driving unit. A spring element arranged between the lever member and the supporting frame urges the friction wheel into contact with the bottom flange of the rail.
Abstract: In a vehicular energy producing system including an electrical generating device and being adapted to be mounted on an undercarriage of a heavy vehicle, a support bracket mounted on the undercarriage for supporting the electrical generating device, and a clutch mounted on the undercarriage. The clutch is driven by the rotation of the wheels of the undercarriage to in turn drive the electrical generating device. A transmission drivingly connects the clutch and the generating device.
