  • Patent number: 10195915
Abstract: A middle hoop system for a vehicle joint arranged between a vehicle front part and a vehicle rear part of a vehicle and forms a passage between the vehicle front part and the vehicle rear part. The middle hoop surrounds the passage. The middle hoop system comprises a cable strand which extends between the vehicle front part and the vehicle rear part, wherein the cable strand is arranged above the passage. The middle hoop system comprises a pivot lever between the middle hoop and the cable strand. A first pivot joint is formed between the pivot lever and the middle hoop. In a preferred embodiment, the pivot lever guides the cable strand at a distance from the first pivot joint. The middle hoop system is cost-effective and provides reliable guidance for the cable strand.

  • Patent number: 6108596
Abstract: A process and a device for the control and/or regulation of a wagon body tilt system (1) for a railed vehicle, e.g., a train. Limit values with respect to comfort are taken into consideration for this purpose. In an equivalent way, these limit values preset a comfort scale for a rail camber or tilt (.phi..sub.c) as desired tilt values (.phi..sub.desired, .phi..sub.des. Speed, .phi..sub.des. accel.) for the control and/or regulation of a wagon body (2) as relevant value based on the system limits and permit a subsequent regulation within the adjustment system (4) of the wagon body (2) only within these limits. If at least one limit value for comfort and/or parameters describing the system is exceeded, these desired tilt values (.phi..sub.desired, .phi..sub.des. speed, .phi..sub.des. accel.) are then adapted by taking into account this at least one exceeded limit value and are converted to adapted desired tilt values (.phi.'.sub.desired, .phi.'.sub.des. speed, .phi.'.sub.des. accel.

  • Patent number: 6065406
Abstract: A system which operates a digitally controlled model railroad transmitting a first command from a first client program to a resident external controlling interface through a first communications transport. A second command is transmitted from a second client program to the resident external controlling interface through a second communications transport. The first command and the second command are received by the resident external controlling interface which queues the first and second commands. The resident external controlling interface sends third and fourth commands representative of the first and second commands, respectively, to a digital command station for execution on the digitally controlled model railroad.

  • Patent number: 5864823
Abstract: A system for distribution of advertisements to interested recipients only via one-way nonaddressable television media and for transmission of orders from recipients to advertisers via two-way addressable Internet media. A system for electronic delivery of newspapers, magazines, books, music, video and computer software to authorized recipients only via nonaddressable television media with recipients' authorization via addressable Internet media. As a result, usage of slow and overcrowded Internet in e-commerce is limited to relatively low-volume communications that need to be addressable while all high-volume information is transferred through fast one-way television lines to bypass the Internet and reach simultaneously an unlimited number of recipients.

  • Patent number: 5584369
Abstract: A low noise current collector 20 having excellent controllability and response, and a high speed railway train using such current collectors. The current collector 20 includes an aerodynamically shaped current collector head 22, a driving cylinder 32 to move the current collecting head, a supporting insulator 30, and a cable head 50 supporting a conductor 53 for conducting current from current collecting head 22 to a load. The current collector 20 is controlled by a cylinder 7 for raising and lowering so that the current collector may be contained in a dome 4 when it is in use. A multi-car train has four current collectors, two toward each end, and each current collector has its front side directed toward the center of the train. The two current collectors at the rear of the train are utilized, while the two at the front are contained within their domes 4. Therefore, the train can run in either direction, utilizing the appropriate pair of current collectors.

  • Patent number: 5295442
Abstract: A multiple track rail transportation system provides cars having a greater than standard width to span adjacent parallel tracks, and apparatus providing for such cars to ride on standard wheel trucks on each of the parallel tracks. Laterally spaced apart and coupled conventional engines may be used to pull such cars, and interconnection between the laterally spaced apart locomotives is provided to enable the train to be operated by a single crew in the cab of one locomotive. Alternatively, a single locomotive spanning the two adjacent parallel tracks may be used. Couplings are provided to enable conventional cars to be coupled to the wider cars and/or engine as needed. The system provides gains in efficiency over relatively narrow trains limited by a single track, allowing shorter trains to still carry the same amount of cargo and/or passengers, and moreover allows wider loads to be carried without disassembly or transfer to smaller cars.
