Abstract: A bogie frame for a railway vehicle includes at least two stringers. Each of the stringers has two flanks and at least one central core linking the two flanks to each other. The two flanks and the central core of each stringer are each formed from a cut metal sheet that is substantially planar and not folded. The vehicle also includes at least one transverse tube linking the two stringers to each other.
Abstract: A frame is disclosed for use with a railway truck having a plurality of support springs. The frame may have a bottom section with a plurality of first openings configured to receive the plurality of support springs, and a middle section welded to the bottom section. The frame may also have a top section spaced apart from the bottom section and welded to the middle section. The top section may have a plurality of second openings configured to register with the plurality of first openings in the bottom section, and a plurality of protrusions extending away from the middle section at the plurality of second openings to enclose exposed ends of the plurality of support springs.
Abstract: A full butt joint structure of a connection joint between a side frame and a cross beam of a bogie frame, characterized in: the side frame is connected to the cross beam by a connecting seat to realize the full butt joint, a side frame connecting end of the connecting seat, a transport column and a side frame inside vertical plate form a plate-plate butt joint structure, and a cross beam connecting end of the connecting seat and the cross beam form a tube-tube butt joint structure. An assembly welding process comprises: the connecting seat is assembled and welded to the cross beam; a cross beam unit is assembled and welded; the connecting seat is assembled and welded to the transport column and the side frame inside vertical plate; a side frame strengthen partition plate is assembled and welded to an upper plate; and the bogie frame is welded.
Abstract: This invention relates to bogies for railway rolling stock. In particular it relates to suspension arrangements for such bogies wherein the frame is mounted on a spring suspension arrangement. In one embodiment the spring suspension arrangement comprises two groups of springs on either side of a wheel axle (11), each group comprising an inner spring (14) and two outer fore and aft springs (15, 16). In another arrangement there are two lower springs (14) on either side of a wheel axle (11) and at least one upper spring (21) above the axle. The arrangements described provide better lateral and longitudinal stiffness and shear characteristics which, reduce hunting and wheel wear. They also enable the axles to accommodate increased loads.
