Abstract: A transporting device of the conveyor belt type, in which a transporting belt, on which the material to be transported can be supported, is capable of being moved along a transport path by a driving mechanism and carried using rolling bodies. The transport path is equipped with an electrical travelling-wave stator (10). Permanent magnets (16) are provided arranged in series, which communicate with the transporting belt (20) in a power-transmitting fashion and form a linear motor with the travelling-wave stator (10) with an air-gap between the pole faces of the attracting permanent magnets (16) and the travelling-wave stator (10). The permanent magnets (16) and the travelling-wave stator (10) are held at air-gap space (a) by rolling bodies (14).
Abstract: An unloading mechanism for a goods wagon having a container with a cylindrical bottom and rotatably carried at its ends in bearings on bogies comprises an arcuate guide affixed to the container and extending on the underside around the cylindrical bottom of the container in a helical configuration and two rollers respectively rotatably carried on supports at different levels and disposed on opposite sides of a travelling path of the wagon As the wagon is moved to an unloading station the roller at the lower level comes into contact with the underside of the guide and forces the container to turn 180.degree. into an inverted position. The container can then be forced to turn another 180.degree. to a transport position by bringing the roller at the higher level into contact with the upper side of the guide.
Abstract: In a luggage container unloader of the type disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 3,863,781, the improvement wherein at least one of the plurality of pivoting doors is mounted on a parallelogram hinge the imaginary axis of which is at least approximately congruent with the axis about which the luggage containers are pivoted, whereby the relative positions of the containers, the conveyors on which the containers are carried through the unloading station, and the pivoting doors remain fixed while the containers are being conveyed through the unloading station.
