Abstract: An energy supply system for an electrical seat device in an aircraft or spacecraft comprises a control unit connected to the seat device, an energy supply which is configured to supply the control unit with electrical energy and an energy storage device which is configured to store electrical energy in a rechargeable manner and which is coupled to the control unit such that said energy storage device can be charged by the energy supply and such that the charging and discharging of said energy storage device can be controlled by the control unit, wherein the control unit is configured to use, as required, the electrical energy stored by the energy storage device to operate the seat device.

Abstract: A passenger cabin of an aircraft includes a seat arrangement that includes a number of seat assemblies. The seat assemblies include a seat structure having a seat backrest forming a backrest surface the and a seat cushion element forming a seat surface, and a passenger space partition, which spatially partitions a passenger space of the seat and which at least partially surrounds the seat structure and leaves open an access to the seat structure. The seat cushion element is moveable between a comfort position, in which the seat cushion element projects further into the access in order to provide a larger seat surface, and an access position in which the seat cushion element does not project as far or does not project at all into the access in order to make possible a wider access.

Abstract: A storage unit (100) has a storage box (110) and a base frame (130) which is removably mounted to the storage box. A hinge (160) is provided to a hinge mounting section (140) of the base frame (130) and supports a lid (150) so that the lid can be opened and closed. The hinge (160) is composed of two inner arms (170) and outer arms (180). A rotation shaft of the hinge is guarded by the inner arms (170) and outer arms (180), so that objects and fingers are prevented from being caught.

Abstract: Describes are passenger seats including a seat pan assembly with a reclining mechanism, a seat back pivotally coupled to the aft end of the seat pan assembly, and a lumbar mechanism coupled to the seat back and/or the seat pan assembly. As examples, the seat pan assembly includes at least one track having a reclining path and a sleeper path, and a sleeper selection control configured to pull a diverter into a position substantially blocking the opening to the reclining path and to push the diverter into a position substantially blocking the opening to the sleeper path. In certain cases, the seat pan assembly also includes a tilting mechanism with a fixed component and a variable component adjustably engaged with each other.

Abstract: A vehicle seat that includes a linkage assembly interconnecting a seat pan assembly, seat back assembly and leg rest assembly whereby, as the seat carriage assembly is moved aft the seat pan assembly and the seat back assembly simultaneously adjust to maintain a predetermined seating position during an initial recline motion with the leg rest assembly remaining in a retracted position below the seat pan assembly. The leg rest assembly progressively elevates into a leg-supporting position during a subsequent recline motion as the back rest assembly and seat pan assembly progressively recline towards a lie-flat configuration.

Abstract: An airplane seat structure includes: a body frame including a plurality of seat boards and seat backs which are arranged in the longitudinal direction at predetermined intervals in a space having a small seat pitch and provide two or more seats in the traverse direction; a connection plate which is bendably connected to a front end of the body frame or the seat board and is horizontally spread to another body frame adjacent frontward to the body frame; a first bed space which is formed over the seat board and the horizontally-spread connection plate; and a second bed space which is formed below the seat board and the horizontally-spread connection plate or formed below the horizontally-spread connection plate and a seat board of the frontward adjacent body frame.

Abstract: A berth arrangement, especially for means of transport, is described, comprising a plurality of single berths (1) which are arranged in rows in a successive, superimposed and mutually offset fashion and receive at least one reclining seat (6), and which berths form a sitting room (2) and a foot room (3) starting out from the sitting room (2), with the height of the foot room being smaller than the sitting room height. In order to provide advantageous constructional conditions it is provided that the respective ceilings (5) and floors (4) of the sitting rooms (2) correspond to the negative shapes of the floors (10) and ceilings (9) of the foot space (3).

Abstract: A seating unit (1) comprises a fixed housing (10) containing a primary seat with a reclinable back arranged to recline in such a manner that it remains within the housing. The seating unit is suitable for a aircraft cabin and may further comprise a leg-rest arranged to cooperate with the seating portion to form part of a substantially flat surface when the back is reclined in a substantially horizontal position. The seating unit may further comprise a secondary seat (3) positioned to face the primary seat, the secondary seat having a seating portion positioned to cooperate with the leg-rest of the primary seat to form a portion of the substantially flat surface when the back of the primary seat is reclined in the substantially horizontal position. Privacy between seats and use of available space within an aircraft cabin may be optimised by arranging at least some of the seats in an echelon.

Abstract: A sleeping berth movable between storage and sleep positions and having hinge means connecting the berth to a compartment wall, releasable latch means including latch levers for engaging within latch keepers, guide means for guiding the berth during movement between positions and means for locking the berth in the sleep position. The guide means comprise a horizontal guide track having closed ends, a guide roller supported for movement within the guide track and a berth support link, the support link having one end portion pinned to the berth and the other end portion connected to the guide roller. One end of the support link engages a latch lever and locks the berth while disposed in the sleep position.

Abstract: A sleeping car compartment which includes a convertible seat arrangement also usable as a bed includes a headrest positioned on a wall of the sleeping compartment above the back of the seat. The headrest includes a shaped pillow which is releasably held in the headrest position and may be removed therefrom for use on the bed when the seat arrangement is converted.
