Abstract: A cargo stake is disclosed which may be secured in a stake hole without the need of inserting a pin or bolt underneath the cargo bed. In a preferred embodiment, a latching mechanism is provided internal to a cargo stake body made from box steel tubing. The latching mechanism includes a latching member which can protrude perpendicular to the axis of the cargo stake at the lower end of the cargo stake, and the latching mechanism is operable through the upper open end of the cargo stake. In a preferred embodiment the latching mechanism is spring loaded and automatically latches in place upon insertion.

Abstract: A pocket stake holder is disclosed having a pocket adapted for mounting an elongated stake of substantially square or circular cross-section to a frame. The pocket stake holder includes a homing having a front member and a pair of side members that have front and back edges. The front member and side members are interconnected along the front edges of the side members to define a U-channel of substantially square cross-section to form the pocket and which includes an open back side, an upper channel opening and a lower channel opening. A pair of flanges are disposed along the back edges of the side members and include a mechanism to enable removable mounting of the flanges and the housing against a surface in order to close the open back side. Finally, a device is disposed at the lower channel opening to prevent passage of a stake therethrough while permitting fluid flow through the channel.
Abstract: An adaptor assembly for a pallet or platform allows plural cargo carrying nfigurations for the pallet. The assembly has a pocket at the edge of the pallet's bed, the pocket having opposed sides, a web therebetween facing the edge of the bed and a ledge between the sides. The pocket has a gap between the sides adjacent to and coplanar with the ledge. A clamp passing through the gap has a mediate section faced on the edge, the mediate section opposing the web and contacting the sides of the pocket. First and second legs of the clamp join to the mediate section and bear on opposed sides of the bed, the mediate section and the legs together forming a C-shaped structure closely received on the bed. A flange extends inboard of the pallet from the first leg and provides a cargo tie-down point. The clamp has one position where the flange is above the bed and has an inverted position where the flange is below the bed.

Abstract: The present invention provides a stake pocket tie-down anchor for pickup trucks which includes an L-shaped member having a vertical leg, with a threaded hole formed therein, which extends into the stake pocket so that it lies adjacent to the inner side wall of the stake pocket on the inside of the bed; and a horizontal leg, which extends past the outer edge of the stake pocket and across the top of the side rail. A tie-down connection member, preferably a hook, is attached to the horizontal leg and extends upwardly.
